Incision Healing

My surgeon's office called a couple of days ago and my abdominoplasty was moved up by a week. With surgery coming up so quickly now, I can't stop thinking about so many random things. I'm just curious. For those who are post-abdominoplasty, how long did it take for your incision to heal (close). I know there's probably still soreness, etc. but I'm wondering just how long I'l be worried about having an 'open wound'...

Also, did anyone temporarily increase their protein intake after plastics? I'm told it helps with the healing, so I've stocked up...

I havent had my surgery yet, I go in on the 20th of this month. YAY!!! So not sure on the healing part, but what I have read on here in the past it is highly recommeded to increase protien before and after. I seem to remember 100 grams being recommened for a goal. I have only been doing one protien shake a day so far but next week I am out of town for 4 days in a hotel and plan on doing 2 or 3 a day (if I can stand it) This will be a easy out of town meal and cheap, but also get my protein up even more. I also heard that you wont have much of a appetite right away after your surgery. So I think sipping protien shakes all day is a good plan. Plus it will be a easy option because I am sure you wont want to prepare any meals.

My incisions for my BL/Ba and tummy tuck were all closed in about a week and a half when I started taking the steri strips off.  I didn't increase my protein....my parents were here for a week and there was a lot of sugar in the house so my intentions to eat health went out the window.  What helped me the best was getting up every couple of hours and walking as much as I could even if it was only for a few minutes.

I think healing is different for everyone and also depends on how your surgery is done (surgeons are trained on different procedures.  .  I went back to work at 12 days post op, only taking tylenol.  I can tell you that I hear alot of people say "it gets better every day"  and that is true.
