Daisie - best wishes whatever you decide. I was 61 when I had brachioplasty and fleur de lis tummy tuck. It was difficult surgery and I had a skin necrosis leaving a large open wound on my belly that took a few months to heal. I have an ugly scar and my belly is still quite tender, tight and achy. This was 9 months ago. I have pictures if you click on my name or avitar picture.
I look good with clothes on, but still butt, thighs are saggy, baggy skin. Boobs deflated and face is kinda hanging, too. With the experience from the above plastics - I've decided not to have any more plastic surgery. I look good in clothes. I'm healthy and have energy. I never wanted to wear "skimpy" clothes or look sexy. I dress moderately.
I'm glad I had my arms done and my tummy is very flat. It was more uncomfortable that I planned and my plastic surgeon told me I can have the discomfort until 18 months post op because of the complication. He wants to do a scar revision, but I don't think I want any more belly pain unless it is medically necessary.
I do think being obese since age 10, gain- loss-regain and the toll that took on my skin were factors as well as my age. I would do the plastic surgery again, but wish I would have been more aware of the discomfort and long recuperation time.
I did go to a surgeon who specialized in body sculpting after massive weight loss. I was in good health and at goal weight at the time of my plastics.
Just my story - hope it helps. Penny
