Im Pissed Off!
My surgery for my panni and hernia repair is scheduled for the 17th of february, but insuranace hasnt approved my procedures yet???? The plastic surgeons office actually scheduled me, took my 1500 dollar co pay , and gave me a pre op visit to prepare before surgery. OK, that was almost 2 weeks ago since my consult and they had all my insurance information for sending pre auths and everything when all of a sudden i get a call from them saying Sorry the kind of insurance that i have needs a referral through my PCP not my bari doctor and they havent submitted anything yet. Are you kidding me!!!! My husband took a week off from work for his vacation time to help me around the house with the kids, ive already planned out everthing with my job for time off, come on do they know what they are doing. Now im waiting on pins and needles to see if the insurance is even going to pay for my panni. :(
I really need a drink right about now!!! Not to mention , recently been diagnosed with food posioning !!! I went out to eat at a buffett last week and ive been in the bathroom every five minutes. Now im on antibiotics for the next week. What else can happen bad??? Just praying that i can still keep the same surgery date. Please keep your fingers crossed

I am sorry...keeping my fingers crossed for you! That is still 2 weeks away so hopefully that is enough time to get things going. I would call my PCP office first thing in the morning and get things going yourself..and then maybe call the insurance company. You have to be your own advocate these days.
Good luck

I am surprised that they would give you a surgery date without approval from the insurance company. For my sleeve, they would not put me on the books until they got that approval.
Good luck

I hate dealing with insurance, and it's even worse when the doctor's office messes things up. It's a total pain having to make sure things are done (like your husband scheduling vacation), and they don't seem to understand that at doctor's offices, even though they deal with it every day and SHOULD understand. If it's a cut and dry claim, they should be able to get approval very quickly, though. I hope so. Keep us posted. Sorry you're sick with food poisioning!
Hmmm...strange.
I can't imagine a surgeon scheduling a date w/o an approval.
Good luck.
Stay on them!
