Areolar/donut only breast lift - surgeons

Hi everyone, new here... so I was wondering if you can explain to me if most doctors prefer to go the lollipop or anchor surgery for breast lifts or if there are doctors who can do miracles and do only areolar/donut surgery for people who have been recommended to have the lollipop one after weight loss.

I reached my goal weight and the only thing upsetting me right now is that my C cup breast disappeared, sagged and now has a wrinkly skin =( I've seen my surgeon last year while visiting my home country in South America (much cheaper to do surgery than here) and he told me I should do the lollipop type... I really wouldn't like that type of scar and would almost consider not having surgery solely on that. He also told me I should have implants otherwise the top part will not be perky.

So, do you think I could find a surgeon here who would be able to do it without going lollipop way??? Are there surgeons known for doing, err... miracles for BL+BA? I don't even think my boobs sagged so bad, they are nowhere close to my stomach lol.

I live in NYC but would be up to going to Mexico or other states for a good surgeon.

edit: I was looking online and the proportions of the sag seem to be important. I just checked and I have 24 cm sternum to nipple, and 4 cm from the inframammary fold (IMF). doesn't seem impossible to have the donut only, does it?

From everything that has been explained to me the donut lift is used only in the most minor cases of droop. You can google breast pstosis and donut lift and you'll find diagrams that show the different degrees of sag and whether or not the donut lift is appropriate. What a shame it would be to go through the surgery and not have enough lift. I'll be honest when I tell you that I had the lollipop lift and really wonder if I should have had the whole anchor deal because I still have some residual softness of the front breast tissue I wish I didn't have. He is now talking about possibly using a donut type lift to get me a bit more lift, but he's hesitant to do the donut even then.

Good luck figuring it out. THe scarring is resolving nicely in my case, so I'd definitely go with the recommended procedure to get the proper breast contour and not worry about the scars.

Take care!

I found this, and the surgeon was explaining why donut lifts are good, but not for everyone. take a peek, see what you think. Best of luck!

I had a Benelli (donut) lift 18 years ago, when the surgeon advised me to have a lollypop lift. My results were ok, I suppose, but if I had realized how well the lollypop scar heals, I would have done the lollypop so my areola's would have been higher after the lift. Some surgeons use very large implants to correct mild drooping, but if you are "wrinkly" as you mentioned above, you probably need at least an lollypop lift.

Also, I've been talking with some surgeons in both Mexico and Costa Rica, and they almost all insisted on using an implant. After I insisted that I do NOT want an implant and just a lift, they agreed to do that for me. It's true that you won't have a lot of fullness on top in most cases, but you can still look great with a lift and no implant. Lots of people have them. If you are unsure, just do the lift first and live with it a while. You can always do an implant later.

Dr. Sauceda in Mexico did a lift/reduction for me two months ago.  I guess what I have would be called a lollipop.

If I were you, I would take pictures and send them to [email protected].  Tell him what you're interested in and he can tell you if he can do that, or make suggestions.

I am thrilled with my breasts for the first time in my life.
