A little OT ... maintenance calorie levels...

Kind of off topic because it doesn't directly deal with PS, but I was wondering what each of you found was a good maintenance calorie range for you.  I have been maintaining my weightloss for a while now, but honestly it is just trial and error.  If I see the scale creeping up, I cut back for a few days. On average, I'd say I am probably eating  1800-2000 calories a day to maintain.  I'm a 6'2" woman who currently weighs 194 lbs (BMI is 24.9).

Please share your height/ weight and the calorie level you have found works for your maintenance.  I am very curious about the differenced in this for everyone.  I did not have bariatric surgery.  I have no clue if that affects anything with maintenance calories though...

Do you track everyday, and did you have bounce back at any time?  Do you find it fairly easy to maintain 7 years out.  You have obviously had great success.

I track in my head, but mostly the protien grams the calories usually follow.  I can maintain pretty easy but to keep myself under 140 I have to diet and walk more.  I weigh around 142 right now, I had a bad weekend and my jeans were snug and I was mad, but that was bloating, it is impossible to gain 5lbs in a weekend.  I am back to normal which if I jumped on the scale I would bet would be +/-1lb of 142.  Yes I am pretty anal about my weight and size.

Great questions.  I am 5'9" and do not know that info.  I have had a 6 pound bounceback.  I have a feeling it must be on the low side though both to  maintain and even lower to lose and that is why I am fighting these extra pounds.

I think the lower we go into the ideal weight range, the harder it is to maintain.  It is funny because at 194 lbs, I actually have struggled to maintain at times.  I think that is because I am so tall and my muscle mass is pretty high.  I have very little fat reserves so I have to keep it lower at times to stay where I want to be.  I just wish I could completely find the perfect balance for my body...

With your height you must look terrific.  I am going to have to figure out exactly what will keep me where I want to be.  I wish I had more muscle mass....I'm working on that.

great question...I don't know the answer!  I usually weigh myself daily but since PS I have not...too much swelling and i didn't want to see that on the scale...thought it would be discouraging.  But I do usually weigh everyday and just use that as my monitor.  If I am up...I tighten it in alittle.  I just follow the eating rules and eat 3 meals a day with a snack in the afternoon.  I have never counted calories...so I have no idea.

I am 5'6" and weigh now 154 lbs.  (I lost 6 lbs from plastics...yeh..I will take it!)
I look forward to seeing the answers you get.

Thanks for asking
Patty
