Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, seromas on my butt makes me cry...

BUTT, I'm crying no more! Surgeon says seromas are gone! He poked and prodded and gave me the all clear to do what I want activity wise. I'm still not completely convinced they are gone, but the ultrasound said they are gone and so does he, so I'm done worrying about it. I can't wait to get back to the gym! I've survived only picking up a couple pounds these last 4 months without the gym, but I'm not sure I can keep that up without getting there.

We talked revisions. He's going to go into the right boob where the implant hasn't dropped and open up the pocket and then he's going to close up the outer side to help eliminate the side boob. I'm so excited about this revision. I had originally said I wanted to see about his raising the nipples again, but he is hesitant to do it and I'm still not sure about pressing it. He says that if he raises them and the implants drop more I risk the nipples pointing more north than I'd like. He's planning for now to do a little mons lift although the swelling is improving, so that may not prove necessary in a couple more months. He is going to do lipo to the outer thigh with some excision of skin at the scar line to help offset any skin laxity from the lipo. It should act to revise my scar too since that has gotten a little wonky due to spitting stitches. The plan is to shoot for late March which will put me at the 6 month mark. I'll see him a few weeks before the scheduled surgery to see where exactly everything is and firm up the game plan then.

All in all things are looking good. I'm feeling quite a bit better since my infusion. I'm hopeful having the iron in great shape prior to this surgery will help my recovery.

Thanks guys!

Denise

I'm so happy to hear that the  seromas are gone!

How restricted was your exercise?  We're you able to go for long (3-5) mile walks?  I still have two in one leg and have been walking for exercise.

any info appreciated.

Hey Lee! He actually did not want me even taking a 15 minute walk, but he reluctantly agreed to it. He said exercise causes something called "muscle shearing" that prevents the tissues from attaching to one another. His big thing was compression. Hope yours clear up soon. Any talk of having them aspirated?

No aspirations for me.  One is small and one feels like a golf ball.  From what I understand the hard ones like this are not aspirated.  It's too close to my knee where it can cause pain and infection if messed with.

Dr. Sauceda says it will absorb naturally.

Are these types of revisions usually part of the original fee/after care?

So far most I've heard of have been. Definitely something to discuss prior to surgery. I can easily see a surgeon trying to avoid including it by saying massive weight loss patients' skin relaxes more than others and there is nothing they can do about it. Part of me feels bad because the reason he is going back in is to fix an implant that isn't dropping and really that isn't his fault, but I think they want us to be happy with the outcome. We stand to send them more business than it will cost him in time in the OR.

Take care!

Hey Patty. I am going to be going in next Tuesday to have my levels checked again. Oh, that reminds me, I need to pick up my lab slip.

I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for checking!

Happy you are feeling and doing better! You'll have to let us know how the revision goes!

Denise, How did the spitting stitches disturb the scar?

For me, the spitting stitches often would start as a little infected scabby area and once I finally dug the stitch all the way out there was a nasty little wound. I had the most of them around my sides for some reason. And a few above my pubic area. I have some areas of my scar that are virtually undetectable. I wi**** was all like that!!

Thanks!
