How long did you wear compression garments?

Feb. 1st will be 3 months post TT for me and I still wear my garments most of the day and night. I know I still have some swelling in my lower abdomen/pubic area. My surgeon told me after 2 months post op I could start wearing the garments less but never said when to stop completely. I had surgery out of town so I hate calling and bugging them, would rather just ask here.

I don't even have a garmet.  My doc just has me using a binder and I have to wear that 24/7 for 6 weeks.  It feels pretty comfortable most of the time...just need to release it every so often so that I can breath.

Is your tummy still numb?  The bottom part of my tummy is numb and just wondering how long that will last?

The compression garment is the binder ;)

Yep, I have no feeling below my belly button down to the incision line. It'll come back eventually. It already has started.

I wore mine 24/7 for 8 weeks and then just during the day for 6 mos more.  It felt good to have the compression and the swelling was less.  You can wear it as long as you want as long as you're comfortable.  I would take it off at night to sleep, however.  My surgeon put mine on in the OR and I kept it on 24/7 as he required to 6 weeks and then just wore it longer as I desired.
I still wear mine for working out.
I had the full body garments from www.designveronique.com from my ankles to my shoulders.

Thanks!

I did also wear mine 24/7 for 8 weeks and have just now started not sleeping in them. I could see wearing them all day for another 6 months, as they do feel comfortable still. And yep, exercising in them or something REALLY tight is what I was told.

So I'll probably just stick to this and see what it feels like 6 months from now.

Dr. Sauceda told me to wear my garments 24/7 for six weeks.  I asked him why others were wearing their garments longer.  He said it makes no difference after six weeks from the medical standpoint.  Everything is adhered at six weeks.

Yesterday was 7 weeks for me.  I took off the garments last week and have been wearing Flexee leggings and camisole most of the time for the last week.  Yesterday I went out in the evening in jeans without the under garments.  I didn't notice an increase in swelling.  When I got home I put the flexee's (spanx type) to sleep in.

I've been doing my 3.25 mile walks wearing the flexee's and the swelling is no worse afterwards.

Now if only I don't have to wear my *****ompression garment at night for six months, I'd be a happier camper.

I wore mine full time until about 5 1/2 months.  Then I switched to night only.  Now only with exercise but I'm backing off on that.  I still have swelling at the end of the day and after exercise.  The nurse in my office said some people wear them up to a year.  I used to be uncomfortable in my abdomen without it but now I don't mind it.
