Shaving the private area
I am one week out of my TT Still feeling sore and swollen as I expect drains are still in and draining big time. I am very happy about all that went on except one thing.
My pre op instructions said do not shave legs or any part of body before surgery I shaved my legs and pit about four days before thought of trimming my pubic area but then thought the nurses would do that. WELL THEY DIDNT my biggest struggle is my drain hole and some of the streri strips were applied right of the the hair. I am having more traumas over this than the sutures itself..
If anyone is having this done address the issue with your ps.
any one else have this problem please give any advice if you can.

Happines is not a birthright. You make your own happiness through your attitude and the way you behave.Happiness is a choice. It takes daily practice to make it a habbit.
I have had 2 abdominal surgeries with 2 different surgeons, the first was like your PS and did NOTHING about public hair and I was told not to shave. The second had a complete perineal shave 2 days before. I chose to do a brazilian about 5 days in advance and that was a great decision!
With the first surgery as soon as I could I used an electric razor, b/c of exactly the challenges you are having!
If you are reading this and having abdominal PS, I highly recommend doing a wax several days out (I had never waxed b4 and thought I was going to wimp out, but it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Honestly!) Anyway, unlike shaving as the hair has regrown it did not itch at all and it much thinner and really soft. I am 5 weeks out from PS and this week is the first time I have needed to shave or do anything (and my incisions are pretty much heeled.)

I may have had a few extra potholes along the way, but the journey has been good!

Sorry, my post was confusing! (Below may be TMI)
I HIGHLY recommend waxing prior to abdominal surgery (it is easier, the surgeon does not do a "neat job", the itch during regrowth is out of control, cleaning that area is not easy with drainage, and the adhesive pulls on pubic hair).
I did a full brazialian (b/c my surgeon said FULL hair removal of entire perineal area, which (after researching) means NO Hair all the way to your anus. I do believe that was a little more than was really necesary. I think if you do a brazilian with a landing strip (that would remove all of the hair, except that around the "lips" and the anus.
As far as the brazilian wax itself, I had never waxed my pubic area before, but my hairdresser is trained (she is my x-boyfriends sister and we are good friends). I did not know that she did brazilians, but I called her for advice about shaving or waxing b/c I thought that the brazilian would be too painful (don't get me wrong it hurt, but was not unbearable - the lip area hurt the most). Anyway, to find someone who does brazilian waxing I would ask a friend if they know someone. I have heard that a person's discomfort/pain during the procedure depends greatly on who does it. If you don't feel comfortable look in your area for spas. (I live in a rural area so there are only a couple of spas and only 1 does brazilian). Your hairdresser might be able to recommend someone.
I hope that helped. I have to say that the 30 minutes it took to do the brazilian was well worth it compared to the hair that was pulled out from the adhesive and just the general cleanliness. (Warning - once you have a brazilian you may like it and become a "normal" waxer - that has happened to me and I am waiting to be 8 weeks post op so I can wax again!
