Dont' worry..it will come back! ;0)

I kinda wi****ook greater advantage of it, instead of eating like crazy!

I think plastics and healing must speed up your metabolism.

Michelle,
You're one of the lucky ones!
I, also lost weight like crazy and ate like a pig post plastics!  For some of us, plastic surgery will increase your metabolism for a month or two - just be careful not to get into bad habits that will be hard to break later!
You do need to increase your protein intake to heal, bu****ch out for those simple carbs!

Dr S just advises his patients to increase their protein and their calories, but he doesn't give you an amount.  He wants you also to drink your 2 Liters of water a day.  I increased my protein to 120 gms a day and my calories to 1800.  I still lost weight and felt I was eating all of the time!

I have been eating over 100 grams of protein and 100 fl oz water per my PS request.. I thought it was odd to be losing when I feel like I have been eating alot.. I just thought maybe it was water weight?? but 4 weeks post seems like a stretch.. I am not really complaining too much but I had a low blood sugar incident a couple of hours after eating grilled chicken on a small tortilla.. I started shaking uncontrollably.. Istarted eating peanut butter with a few crackers.. in about 20 min felt better but scared to death because my DH had already left for work..

As long as I dont go under 165, I'll be okay with it.. I eat a lot of egg whites, veggies, whey protein, greek yogurt, grilled/baked chicken.. beef jerky too.

I will keep the simple carbs at bay... thanks for letting me know that this metabolism thing will slow down

 Hi michelle,

Dr. Sauceda took six pounds of skin off me during surgery.  When I got home two weeks later I was down six pounds on the scale.  I'm down another 4-5 pounds now, depending on sodium intake etc.

I'm trying very hard to maintain my weight lss since surgery.  This weight feels much better to me.  I hope that my metabolism has gone back to normal so that how I'm eating will work for me.  I seem to be hungry more often than pre- op but try to make good choices.
