Hello Everyone!

It has been such a long time since I been on here! I am at the point now where I am ready for plastic surgery to "complete" my journey. I am 27 female lost 120+ pounds from Gastric Bypass almost 7 years ago! Have any of you gone abroad? I was looking into possibly the Dominican Republic...

Thanks so much!

I have been to Dr Sauceda twice and have had 3 surgeries. You'll see what I had done in my signature line. He's excellent. He requires you to stay in an American hotel near his clinic/hospital once you leave the hospital and his RN will visit you daily for the time required. I had to stay 14 days. He will visit you each afternoon. You really cannot beat the care you get there. If I had the procedures here in Denver, I would have been sent home. I stayed in the hospital for a week with my LBL/Anchor TT/full thigh with lipo and Total Facelift with eye lift. He did the facelift 3 days after he did my body work. I am extremely pleased with his work and will be returning for my upper body lift, breast lift/aug and more thigh work.

He has a forum here: http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/Dr_Sauceda_Patients/

If you friend us, do you have photos?  You are right...that is excellent aftercare.  I am just so scared to go to Mexico.  My daughter's inlaws live close to the border, close enough to see into Mexico.  They are Hispanic, and they don't go.  But the savings and work done seem to be substantial.  His patients really like him.  I would love to see photos of your facelift.

I think those of us in TX and states that border MX are much more aware of the security issues in MX than the rest of the US. We hear about the crime, murders, and drugs on our nightly news. I hear such great things about Dr Sauceda, but I'd be afraid to travel in MX now and have been for some time.

I think that's it.  I have heard such good things about him too.  I brought it back up again this morning, and I get a wall of resistenace from my family.  It is too bad it has to be that way.  He does great work and apparently provides great care.

I had a facelift in Costa Rica and have no complaints.  Several people in the recovery house where I stayed post-op had bodywork, tummy tucks and breast lifts and the like.

Like Dee I went to Dr Sauceda last Jan and had my full body and a full neck & face lift.  I was in the clinic for 7 days and the hotel for 7.  I had daily visits at the hotel by Dr S and his nurse.  I went by myself and felt very safe.

One of his OH patients is down there now, drop over on the board and ask questions.

I am going to Dr S as well next month. Super excited and will have to see when I get there how I feel security wise. I dont think I will think twice about going out, but if for some reason I dont feel safe I will just stay in the hotel all day. I dont plan on going anywhere except Applebees, Starbucks and the movies, all of which I hear are walking distance.

Jennifer, don't forget to go to the Italian place that is next door to Applebee's.  It's so delicious and lots of food to save for other meals!  The HEB is very close and the food court has more food that you can imagine.  When I was there in 2009, some of the girls bought dresses at a shop in the mall.  I bought a swimsuit - $15USD.  It's very safe.  Just use your common sense, leave your jewerly and credit cards at home -- home in the states.  And don't go out after dark.  I did, however, go to McDonald's a few times after dark, it's in the same parking lot as the Hotel - I had to get my frozen yogurt!
