What did you receive for pain? Your plastic surgeon was Dr. Behamand, right? I might put him on my list for consults, since I heard good things about him yesterday.

Did you have the OnQ  pump for pain?

Hi Gail,

My Plastic surgeon was Dr. Behmand in Walnut Creek.  Love him!!
I did not have the pump.

He uses flexeril for 3 days ( a hugh help!!)
and then percocet once home.  In the hospital (for 1 night) I had both of those and IV meds also.  He made sure I was as comfortable as possible.

Did you have your surgery yet?
I had seen Dr. Behamand's work on someone from OH's tummy and I thought he did a fabulus job.  So once I went and met him, I knew we was who I wanted so I never went for another consult.  there wasn't any of the surgeon's around where I live that I had wanted.  I drove alittle ways for him but he is worth it.

I am still in the investigating stage of things. I had a consult last June, just to get an idea of cost and what could/couldn't be done. I really liked the first surgeon. He is in Concord, very close to where I live. Dr. Behamand is in a similar location, so I like that he is close. Someone I met yesterday, said that he does wonderful reconstructive work, as well as the first surgeon that I met with. I  met someone that had some work done by the first surgeon and one wouldn't even know that she had had a facelift. Absolutely gorgeous, but she was beautiful to begin with.

I gave myself a year to maintain a consistent weight, before I would have any plastics done. I wanted to be sure that I would be able to maintain, which I have been doing since mid-April of last year.

There is definitely a psychological component for readiness to have this done. At least for me. I had complications with the VSG, so I've been leary about having more surgery done, since I have an underlying condition that the VSG exacerbated.

Here's to feeling better and great healing.

Gail,  I think u r very smart to do research and take your time.  I waited until I had been at goal for 6 months before I went to my consult.  I would of had it done earlier but I had a job change and felt I needed to be there for six months before took time off for surgery.
I do think it is a good idea if it iis possible to see the surgeons work.  The person that I saw actually had exactly what I was going to do so that was a Hugh help.  And she was sweet enough to show me everything before and after surgery...so that is what totally helped me make my decision.

Again...good luck
