Had my butt ultrasound...

Seems when you call a radiological facility, they give pause when you say you need an ultrasound of your butt! I actually had to call two different facilities because the first one insisted that I'd need an MRI or CT scan to rule out a seroma or lipoma and would not schedule me (and for the record, I really didn't tell them I needed an ultrasound of my butt, although that is certainly not outside of the realm of possible with me!). The second place reluctantly scheduled me. The gal that did it was nice and seemed to know what I was talking about.

Well, the results are in...the ultrasound shows no evidence of seromas. "No focal areas of fluid." Whoo hoo!! I'm cautiously optimistic because although I think the one on my right is gone, I'm still having a bit of swoosh on the left. Sure, some may call it a jiggle, and sadly, that just may be my ass! LOL! Hopefully on Tuesday when he gets to poking and prodding me (hmmm, that could sound very wrong out of context), he won't find any evidence of a seroma either. If he does, I will tell him I just want him to aspirate--no drain--because I think that now that I've got my iron on board healing should finally be easier.

So cross your fingers for me. If I don't have any seromas he'll release me to exercise again, which I DESPERATELY need to get back to doing. And say a little prayer that my insurance covers the ultrasound. I am of the strong belief that they will and if not I'll appeal because there was no seroma so they can't say it was related to the surgery, especially since doc said it was to rule out lipoma, which would have nothing to do with my surgery anyways.

Have a great weekend guys!!

Your overly wordy friend,

Denise

I think I'm feeling a bit less breathless. Not so sure on the energy front, but he said it could take a week before the body does what it needs to do with the infusion, so hopefully soon!

Thanks!

I just won two appeals with my insurance company that saved me upwards of a grand. Not shabby for a couple letters and a few friendly, yet firm phone calls. With mad rhyming skills like yours, I'd say you should be at open mic night at the local java joint instead of killing yourself at the gym. Funny enough, I had hemorrhoid surgery, so I know EXACTLY how you are walking. Not pretty! LOL! Hope the soreness soon gives way to the reassuring but gentle ache that says you did a nice, solid workout at the gym--without leaving you feeling like you've just been violated by your friendly neighborhood colorectal surgeon!! ;) And you know I'm milking this deal like the Dairy Queen. Not much milk left though, so gonna have to face the music soon!

Have a great Sunday!! Go Ravens!!

Denise

I meant to respond to your note about dates, but I cannot find it.  Anyway, when you ate them you had no difficulty?  I think it is their texture.  I'm going to try one.

...I apologize for the off topic

He didn't advise me to massage. He wanted the area left alone so the skin could adhere to the underlying tissue.

I'll ask about it Tuesday though...Thanks!
