If your scars are scab free, you can use Bio Oil on them. Smells nice, moisturizes beautifully and supposedly can help with scarring.

I'm six weeks out and just started using Bio Oil on the areas that are scab free.  I can't believe I still have minor scabbing at 6 weeks.

I found the oil at Costco for a good price last week.

Do you know what the oil base is in Bio Oil?  Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Mineral oil??

I used Olive oil on my son's head when he had cradle cap..its an old portugese thing..My son has a beautiful head of hair.. My Dad used Olive oil instead of hair cream.. remember those guys who would slick back their hair..elvis and the like.. that was my Dad.

I am willing to try anything.. at this point.. I am applying my Arnica Massage Oil on my no scabbed areas..I had to dab my nipples with oil cause I thought they might crack..

I might have to change my body soap to Cetaphil..or the walmart equivalent..

Michelle I am with you and I was very concerned about how DRY my skin was after surgery.  I still have scars like you and I am careful not to put anything on them, but the skin around the area my PS recommended Lubriderm or Gold Bond.  I chose Gold Bond Ultra Healing and it made a HUGE difference in a very short amount of time! :-)  I don't know in your area, but last week it was buy one get one 50% off at Happy Harry's.  I applied it to my thighs and butt area like 3 times a day and the dry skin was sooooo much better in a day or two!

I think I am going to shower with Cetaphil..then oil down in some kind of lotion or oil on the non scabbed areas..I wonder if eating more vit E would help? fish oils?

PurCellin Oil: main ingredients are vitamins A and E, Lavender, Calendula, rosemary oils and Chamomile extract.

After just researching on the net it looks like mineral oil base.  It feels really good.

Hey Lee,

I had my week 4 check up.. My PS said I could any lotion and Vit E on scars.. I decided to use the Arnica Massage oil that has some rosemary and lavender in it.. It felt great not having such dry skin today.. Small rewards
