I had an extented tummy tuck  in october of 2011. They removed 10 pounds of skin. the scales have not changed. I weight the same as i did when i went in. I can hardly get into my 14s that i wore before surgury. I may have to go to 16. it is very discourging. Not sure what or anything to do about it. THe extented tummy tuck looks great. Just not happy with the scales not changing and clothes not fitting better. Any suggestions??

Are you tracking your food? I would start there.

I agree with Laura that tracking is a great tool.  Track your food to see how much protein, carbs, calories you're getting.  What was your range while you were shedding the pounds.  Go back to basics.  Protein first, vitamins, hydrate, move your body.  Sometimes people eat more in the month following surgery because our metabolism gets geared up for the healing process.  Not modifying our eating once we go back to normal can be problematic.  I'm almost 6 weeks out and having to pay close attention to not snack and add in carbs to keep off the pounds I shed post plastics.

I'll chime in with Laura and Lee.
Look at your intake.
I log every bite, every meal, every day.
I have done it for 2 years. (Sparkpeople)

I had quite a bit removed in my surgeries. The scale does not show it but my body def does!

I would start with an honest assesment of your caloric intake.
Then on to exercise and expenditure.

I would also look into tracking your daily in take.

I know for about the first month I was pretty swollen after my TT and had to wear 8's instead of 6's.  However, I am not 2.5 months out and I am back to wearing every piece of my normal clothes.

So thankful for my DS! 1/20/2012 - SW 290/CW 155 - 1 year to lose, 1.5 years and counting maintaining!
