TT/Arms
Hi there:
Love reading all the posts on successful surgeries!
I had my breasts lifted/reduced in October. Chose no implant at that time, although may reconsider because there was not enough mass to really make a round boob.
Anyway, my surgeon will do a TT and my arms together. I like that because I am trying to take time off work together as much as I can. My doctor says 3 weeks home should be fine. My question is this....I know with the tummy how painful it is and hard to move around, so how can you manage with the arms also? Doc says my hubby will definitely have to be with me for a few days. Can you bend your arms or must they stay straight?
Any info is most appreciated as I continue my journey!

I have to admit that I did my arms a little over 2 weeks prior to abdomin and legs and I don't know how I would hav done them all at the same time. My arms were wrapped straight and I could not bend them. I had to use a straw in order to drink cause I couldn't get my arms to my mouth without a straw.
I'd ask your surgeon about what arm garments you'll be in. Mine are compression sleeves so I could do everything the next day except raise them over my head or put pressure on them. I didn't use them for things like lowering myself to the toilet, but used my abs to do the work. I had stomach muscle tightening at the same time.
How strong are you and do you think you can do it? I was happy to get it all done at once.
Good luck! :)

I just had arms and TT on Fri 6th. I have had no problems at all. You don't have to keep your arms straight. I haven't needed anything stronger than Tylenol since Monday. Had a drain in each arm and one on each hip. They really are manageable. Got both arms and 1 hip out on Monday and last drain out on Thursday, Went to work Wed for an hour to do payroll. Been out to eat, grocery, beauty parlor, and dog park(4 times). Sustained two devastating football losses(LSU and the Saints) with no pulled stitches. I have slept in my own bed every night. I bought a toilet riser but didn't need it. I am going back to work Tuesday 17th full time, I do not have a sit down job (HoneyBaked Ham) and I believe I will be fine. I am 51. Don't get me wrong ...there will be discomfort when moving from one position to another and the compression garments can get annoying but I have been very pleasantly surprised at how well this week has gone. I have had to concentrate on not doing too much because it has been an easy recovery. I love my arms and when the swelling goes down I will have a waist for the first time ever! Feel free to contact me with any qustions you may have. Do put things that you will need the first few days at counter height because you can't reach very high at first.
