New update on PBJ
Hi All,
Spoke with PBJ on Friday via a few text and she asked that I update you on how she is doing. She was having a few problems with the texting...I am sure the narcotics have a little bit to do with that...but, she was able to get her points across.
She is having a fair amount of pain and said that the doctor told her the first 4 days are the worst....2 days down and 2 to go. She had to leave the hospital on Thursday with the foley catheter in place. I am not sure why that was, but I would guess it had something to do with the pain, but could have to do with urinary retention from the narcotics also. When she is feeling better, I will get more details on that point.
She was very touched that everyone was concerned and had said Hi and sent well wishes. I am sure she will be online as soon as she feels up to it. Until then, I will do my best to keep you all updated as she asks.

Fantastic! Keep up the rest, pain meds, protein, and fluids!
When I had my LBL they did not remove the folwy until right before I was discharged and I told the nurse I wanted to try to go tot he bathroom as you all know what it is like to go the first time after the catheter has been removed. She told me that they leave it in as long as possible b/c of pain. Apparently after a LBL they have found it difficult for the patient to determine rather they are feeling pain or that they need to go to the bathroom. Just an FYI, I guess it all feels like pressure! :-)

Sharon,
Please let remind her that by Day 5 she will be doing alot better..I counted it down by how many more sleeps I had.. like a kid before Christmas..
There is a fair amount of pain and I am sure the foley is helping her from getting up and down to go potty.
I hope she feels better soon!
