I was told six weeks.

Didn't really matter as I shower- don't like tubs.

My PS stated 6 weeks not only do the outside needs to be healed so does the inside. Maybe you can have a foot soak and a gentle massage instead? Or some aromatherapy? I love epsom salt too.. I keep a huge bag next to the bath..

I took a shower the day after I got home from my LBL but was told not to take a bath until all my incision was completely healed.

Thanks...I never, ever take baths...only showers, so it sounds like it won't be too difficult.

Confession:  I bought my place in 2003 and I have NEVER been in the tub.  I take my showers in the guest bathroom that has the best stand up shower stall around.  I do go in the pool occasionally but won't be doing that until summer so I have no worries about how long to stay out of water.  Now if I had an old claw foot tub, I might just be tempted.  These modern tub shower units are really for the dogs.

I was allowed to shower the 2nd post-op day after my brachio (I didn't have drains). In reality, I washed my hair in the sink on the 3rd post-op day and showered on the 4th... but that was just a comfort issue. I was afraid taking the compression shirt on/off would hurt so I waited.
