great results
I'll send you a friend request. I'm considering putting up my yucky, nude befores, but I might wait until I firm up a surgery date (and surgeon). I've got to take care of this saline explant very soon because it's causing me some serious health problems, so I WILL have surgery within the next month or two. I'll get my husband to take a full lenght photo at my current weight (clothed) and put that up this evening or tomorrow.
If you look at Dr S's website, there is a picture of a woman who was around that weight when she had her LBL and she was approx your height. It's under the LBL after massive weight loss. I asked about her when I had my first consult. He said she was not going to lose more weight so he did perform a LBL. The main question IS do you plan to lose more weight after your LBL? If you plan to lose more than 10 to 15lbs. I would not do it at 200lbs. You won't be happy after your weight loss. It's very possible that your results will sag anyway because of the large amount of weight that you lost. I had that issue.
If you're happy at 200lbs. I'd say go for it. he can't remove more than a certain amount - during one surgery event. Ask him what his limit is. I can't remember what he told me.

Depends on your definition of great. Yes, you will see a marked improvement.
LBL is NOT a method of losing weight though. You will lose weight when they take off the excess skin and fat, but if someone is imagining that they will go in at 200 and come out at 150, they will be disappointed. (Not implying that you think that).
As the rest of the ladies have said. if you want to lose signifigantly more weight then DO NOT HAVE THE LBL YET. If you are thinking that you wills top losing after another 10lbs then it is something to consider, maybe. Your results will be signifigantly impacted by future weight loss. This is why the surgeons want you to be close to your goal weight.
Remember, our skin has is not like regular people's skin. We have lost alot of elasticity. I don't see what your starting weight was and I don't know how long you battled the obesity or how much yo-yoing you did so I can't even guess how problematic your skin may be. This laxity issue also has to do with your age and your genetics. If the doc tightens you up and you lose 15+, you are going to see signifigant sag again.
All that being said - you don't HAVE to be at your goal or at the ideal weight to have the LBL surgery. Your surgeon can help estimate how much extra weight is on your frame from the skin and tissue. He/she can give a very educated guess as to how much fat you still have to lose to hit a normal BMI.
I am your height and was jumping around between 151-157. I thought I needed to lose more weight and be down around a normal BMI goal of 145 to get surgery. After talking with my surgeon, I learned I was carrying probably 20lbs of excess skin and tissue (I took alot of convincing to believe it wasnt fat.) 155 minus 20 = 135. Holy cow! I was not still fat and was ready to schedule surgery.

I was 198 the day of my LBL surgery.
You want to make sure that you are not continually loosing weight. My Doctor had a requirement that your weight must be stable for at least 6 months. If not you may have to have a revision if you loose even more and you won't get a good result.
He also stated that PS is not a method to loose weight and that skin and fat don't weigh that much.
With that being said they removed 5 pounds from me.

Your surgeon will let you know.
They can assess your weight distribution and body type.
Mine was the fact that I stayed at 189-190 for almost 6 months.
I was not losing anymore weight so I was ready to move on to the next step.
I'm not skinny- never gonna be skinny.
Plus I had a huge pannus and large empty breasts. There was not gonna be anymore weight lost there.
For my surgeon- weight has to be stable for six months.
If you plan to lose more- I would wait.

Thanks guys for your help.. I actually wanna get down to 150/160 when i go in for my plastic surgery. So i have a while to go before i reach that goal. I dont know exactly how much the excess skin i have weigh right nw, But i do know i will continue to lose. Thats why i schedule my date so far out, probably will change the date again. My grandma had gastric bypass 3 months ago and her face is sagging badly, but she 59, my facial skin dont sag i only 26 though.
