Dr. Lo Monaco consultation

Well....I did it.  I made an appointment for a consultation.  After tossing the thought around since having surgery and seriously considering it for the last 8 months....I did it.  I'm nervous just thinking about it.  I will be 57 my next birthday and wonder if I should concentrate of my face and let my clothes hide the rest.  I know you all will understand this...I would just like to stand in the mirror and feel good about my body.  Because I gained weight at 12 causing stretch marks and everything else that goes along with weight gain at such a young age, I can honestly say I have never looked great w/o clothes and have always been self-conscious about that...at times okay dressed but never undressed.  This board has helped make this decision.

I had my plastics last month at 61.  I started putting on weight at 7 and never had a body I felt good about.  This is the biggest gift I've ever given myself.  I love looking at my flat tummy and perky breast.  I regret nothing!  :)

Thank you so much for that Lee.  Can you befriend me, and will you put up before and after photos.  Your post made me feel so much better regarding my age.

I have been email dr. sauceda becaue i ca not do a face to face consult.. I must say he is the most caring man I know,. He really does care about his patient well-being. I truly admire him for that and cant wait until the day i get my plastic done by him because i know i will be in excellent hands. I have read alot of good stuff on this board and I have got a chance to see first hand what kind of person he is.

 Good for you!  Congratulations on taking this important step for yourself.  We all know how hard it is to even make the appointment and look for help to improve how we feel about ourselves or address our body issues.  The choice to have the WLS and the incredible success you have had so far deserves a huge round of applause.  Seeing a PS is just one more step on the journey you started to love and feel positive about yourself.  It doesn't even matter if you decide for or against surgery - you are already winning.

Raven you, more than anyone, helped me come to this decision.  Your positive attitude, with every thing you went through to travel here to have this done was nothing short of inspiring.  But when I saw your before and after....that was it.  I had the same reaction the day my middle daughter opened her Facebook page and showed me  the before and after photos of a young woman we have known for many years.  She was 6 years older than my oldest.  She was celebrating 1 year post gastric bypass.  I watched her grown up in our church.  Now I was looking at her remarkable transformation.  I joined Facebook because of her.  I wanted to be able to  go and look at her photos over and over until one day I made up my mind to start researching surgeons and programs for WLS.   That was 2008.  I had that same reaction when I saw your photos.  I was instantly inspired and could not get them out of my mind.  You put my mind at ease and were so matter of fact about the healing process seemingly taking everything in stride.  So...on Feb 2nd I'll have my consultation.
