Breasts, Bras, Underwires

Here's my question of the day!

I had a breast lift/reduction.  I'm wearing an arm/breast garment for at least another two weeks, perhaps longer.

When were  you able to wear something besides a sport bra?  What about Underwires?  How long did you wait!

At 4 weeks out today, the incisions under my breasts are still extremely tender so I know I have major healing still ahead.  I'd just like to start fantasizing about cute little bras.

Before my Sleeve I was a 42DDD.  This summer I was a 34DDD.  I got smaller before surgery in December.  I went into surgery asking Dr. Sauceda for a full C and it looks like he delivered perfectly.

I'm thrilled to be a size that will be easier to find.  I look very perky in a tank top right now and couldn't be more elated.

That said, when I was laying down this morning after my shower, I didn't have my binder back on yet.  My tummy was concave with my hip bones protruding. That was a major thrill as well.

Afternoon, Lee!

You know I love my wires! I was in the sports bra for 4 weeks, then a wireless cotton bra for 2 more weeks, and then I jumped the gun and went for wires. They were SO much more comfortable than the sports bra or wireless!

My surgeon said that when I had no scabs and could put the bra on without discomfort on the scar line, I could go for it. He estimated 8 weeks, and I did it in 6.

The VS sale is on... maybe go try on a couple and fantasize some more? Or, remember those days of hanging up a skinny dress to motivate you - maybe a cute bra to help the healing vibes?

Rebecca!  You have been my plastics beacon.  I remember watching your journey.

As soon as I can take off these arm binders, I'm on my way to VS.  :)

I was given the underwire go ahead at 6 weeks. Was still a little tender and I'm finding that the size I actually measure is still a it uncomfortable. Still feels tight in the evening around the band. But loving how it looks first thing when I put it on!

I started wearing my underwire bra at 2 weeks post op.  I hate sports bras.  I asked my PS if I was cleared to wear my regular bra since my incisions were all closed up and had him look at how it fit me.  He gave me the go- ahead.  By the end of the day, I am ready to take my bra off and let my chest just be free :).  However, I don't find the bras uncomfortable during the da.  Just listen to you body on that one...

Wow, I'm four weeks and can't imagine wearing any sort of bra. My incisions are still so tender.  I must be healing slowly.
