I only did one in office treatment and then they gave me two follow up take home treatments (I had to pay extra for that).  Before they do the actual treatment they go through coloring scenarios with you and determine what is the best shade and they try to get close to that.

When I was in high school I had my front four teeth bonded because they were too small.  The bonding on those teeth after years of smoking were more discolored than my actual teeth.  I had already planned on getting veneers on those teeth, so the tooth whitening was the first step.  The veneers were about $1000 a tooth............but I am totally glad I made the investment after hiding my smile for years.

Thanks and Happy New Year to you..

My dentist actually told me to use the Crest whitening kit. He said it is basically the same thing they use in the office. I did use it and didn't have any problems

 Hiya Kim
was told the stuff over the counter is not as strong as the stuff the dentist uses

Yes, it is true that the stuff (peroxide) in the dentist office is stronger, but if you're using the strips  or trays at home you will have a cumlative effect and less chance of having gum sensitivity which  can really hurt.
