Thanks so much. The drains are not painful as long as there is nothing pulling them. I have them attached to a lanyard around my neck so I haven't had any problems with them so far. I DO NOT look forward to having them pulled out though. I am scared of that part even though I have heard that it is not that bad. I will be taking my pain meds before I go in!! lol.
I feel great as of today.  I took a shower and washed my hair so just that will make you feel so much better. I am finally able to get out of the recliner by myself this afternoon so I don't feel so dependant.  Still sleeping in my recliner though.

Thanks so much. I see you are in Maryland. Where are you located? I am in Northern Virginia near Dulles Airport. I had my surgery at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

Yes! I am looking at the Johns Hopkins program or University of Maryland.  I didn't know about this option until I read your post.

I think either one is a great choice. It would have taken me another month or 2 to get an appointment with Johns Hopkins and my University of Maryland appointment was my 3rd consult already and the price was right so I went with UofMd. I really liked their attending physicians there too. I guess I met one by accident when the Chief Resident had to run over to the hospital right when it was time for my appointment. The other one I met the morning of my surgery. They were really nice. I haven't had anything bad to say so far about my experience with them.

Seems like you got quite a nice result from the thighs with the less invasive incision.

Did I mention I hate drains? LOL!!

Glad it went well!!

I think it was a good decision to go less invasive too. I can always do more later, but once you do it, you can't take it back.

What? You don't like my 2 new besties "The Drains"? We are getting along just fine right now. One did start crying yesterday though so I had to put a piece of gauze around it to keep the tears from running down my leg...lol. Hopefully one willbe gone by the end of the week....and I will NOT be the one crying....except for when they take it out. OUCH!!

You look terrific.  I had 11 Alien Baby drains and brought two home with me from Mexico.  One leg started to leak a little.  Take a maxi pad and cut a notch in for the drain.  Place it snugly up against the tube to catch any drips. I just taped it on.

I had to remove two drains myself. One from  the knee and one from the mons area.  It's really not bad. Take a bit of pain med before you go in.

You look great! :-)
I don't know who did your PS, but Dr. Michaels in North Bethesda just did mine and I swear I never knew he had pulled out the drains it was AMAZING!!!!!  I have had over 6 drains prior to those 2 not including a couple PICC lines and a feeding tube, BUT this last time I never even knew he had taken them out.  (I even warned him that I have always grabbed he persons hand and screamed, he told me no one has ever screamed.....as he was holding the end of the drain in his hand he asked if I wanted to scream! :-))
