Update from yesterday's surgery

Yesterday morning was my LBL revision with Liposuction.  Woke up to it snowing so it made for a little more adventurous trip to the hospital for sure!  Signed in, had the normal stuff checked - BP, etc.  and then my PS came in to mark the areas.  Went in to the surgical area and got my IV and a nice warm blanket (the best part).

Then it was off to surgery and it was scheduled for 1 hr. 15 minutes.  It ended up lasting 2 hrs. 45 minutes.  To get the desired result I ended up having an incision all the way from my one hip bone around the back to the other hip bone.  So, the only thing not touched/revised was my tummy area from my original LBL.  Came out of surgery in some pain (I have a high threshold of pain tolerance).  I knew at that point more had been done than originally expected.

When I was moved to 2nd stage recovery they gave me a pain pill that ended up causing big time dizziness and nausea once I got home.    Once that wore off I was much better the rest of the evening.

My restrictions are no driving, no exercise for four weeks, etc.  Post-op appt. this Friday and I'm hoping the driving restriction is lifted since I'm not taking any pain medication.  This recovery is so different due to no drains, no daily shots, I can get up and down a lot easier since it didn't involve my stomach muscles.  Just basic soreness.  I have peeked at my results, don't want to get my hopes up, but my saddle bags are GONE!!  But I have to keep in mind that last time they showed back up at the two week mark.  Fingers crossed that the combo of lipo and more lifting did the trick!

I am glad at this point that I decided to have the revision!

It is early evening now and while this morning I felt pretty good, by this afternoon I was feeling more and more sore, more pain, etc.  Not able to get comfortable but I figured that today would probably be the roughest day and then it will be getting better.  The hospital called this afternoon to check on me which was nice.

Today I'm feeling much better so far and was even able to take a shower.  Just have to remember not to overdo it and to rest when I need to.
