Laxity after breast lift?

My right implant has still not dropped despite wearing this damn strap more than I'd care to. The forward part of my breast tissue is definitely softer and more lax than I expected. I'm told it looks and feels natural. I feel like my nipples are sitting too low and if I lean over my boobs are still kind of hangy for lack of a better explanation. There is even a bit of a shelf-like drop off where there is fullness from the implant and then it drops to my natural breast tissue. I can even see crepey (sp?) skin when I'm in my bra.

I really expected that after a lift and implants I'd have nice, firm, round breasts with nipples that are in the middle of the breast mound and not at the lower 1/3 of my chest.

Anyone else have any laxity after a lift/implants or even just a lift. I'm told I'll likely need to have a revision to expand the pocket for the right breast where the implant has not fallen into place. If he is putting me under, then I'm getting the perky, high boobs I bargained for.

I also don't like how I am made to feel like I should just be happy for what they were able to do. Again, I didn't set the expectations, the surgeon did, so I'm not going to feel guilty for wanting what I was told I'd have.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

Denise

First of all, I must say we are our own worst critic. I do not believe they are as bad as you describe, but I understand being unhappy and wanting things "fixed". I am glad your surgeon is listening and will do what he can to make things better.

I think some of what you described is why many surgeons, mine included, do breasts in 2 stages (lift first, then implants 3-6 months later).

It is just so hard to know who is right. So many different approaches from these surgeons and sometimes things go great and other times not. I am going to put some updated pics on my profile. I'll shoot you the password so you can take a look if you don't mind. I told Lee I'd love some objective eyes. One thing that really bugs me is how very far down from my armpits my nipples are. I'm sure some of that has to do with my anatomy before and he did say my breast crease was lower than some, but I thought he'd be able to get my nipple up farther they way it was shown to me when he was marking me for surgery. Same issue with my outer thighs--what he showed me during preop and marking of how my thighs would look is quite different than what I got.

Again, overall, I am pleased with the improvement, but if I am going to be subject to more surgery for the pocket expansion and he can tweak them a bit, then I'll take it. If not, I'll just put them babies in a good bra and no one will be the wiser--except hubby of course.

Thanks!

Yes, yes, yes. But I also think that society gives us an unrealistic picture of what things should look like. As a nurse I have seen more boobies than any one has a right too. All shapes and sizes. When I compare mine to the 'norm' and not a Victoria's Secret model, I feel like I look pretty damn good. I also have to consider that at 47 and having nursed a baby, I probably am not goiong to defy gravity. That being said, I don't have any of the crepey skin on my girls and mine are settled beautifully after not quite 8 weeks.  I 't being going probably won't be going braless and uld have liked things a little higher and firmer, but overall I am pretty happy.

If my husband reads your post, I'm sure he's going to inform me that he's decided to go into nursing!! LOL! I also nursed two kids for a total of 24 months of my life. As I said to Lee, I'm a little worried that if the forward breast tissue is already this soft, what the heck will I be faced with in a couple years. I don't want to be looking at a revision in 18 months like another gal I read about. I definitely want to knock it out while I'm under warranty! LOL. Glad you are happy with your results. I'm going to be fine if I can't get any further lift or tightness, but if I can, I'll be extra fine--in more ways than one!! LOL!

I told the others I'm going to put up some current shots so you can see what I am talking about and will message you the password once they are up. Of course, you are under no obligation to look, but I'd appreciate the objective feedback of a boobie pro! :)

It is always good to talk through these things with people who have lived it.

Thanks!!

Denise

Okay, this will sound weird - but I gotta ask:

Are you abel to use moisturizer yet?

I get weird creapy like skin when my skin is not hydrated, and it being winter, just thought I'd ask.

I love the result I get with Bio Oil.  I put it on right out of the shower.  I like it so much I've even been using it on my face!

My husband said something about not using oil near incisions until they are completely healed because germs can live on fat/oil so I would ask your Dr first.  But I love the stuff.

I get Bio-oil at drugstore.com and Bed Bath & Beyond, because the one in SF has a huge cosmetics dept.

Hope this helps!

I am able to use moisturizer, but don't typically use it. Might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the feedback!

Denise, I'm so sorry that you're not thrilled with your results. Keep asking for what you want. If you don't ask , for sure you won't get it.  That said , I agree that we are our own worst critic.

Did you post a pic of them? I would give you an honest opinion.

I am over the moon delighted with my lift.  My nipples have never in my life seen this vantage point.  I don't know yet what they'll look like after the swelling goes down or what size I'll be.  I'm hoping for 32 or 34C.  I was 34DD going into it.

I hate to sound like I am not happy with the improvement overall. I really am. I do love my flat belly and my boobs look downright hot in clothes! LOL! As far as the naked breasts are concerned, I'm really worried that if they are this soft now, they've got no where to go, but down! I'm not having any fall at the breast crease--it is more the front breast tissue by the nipple. I'm scheduled to talk to him about it all after the New Year. I really am just of the mind that if he has to go in to extend the pocket for my right implant, then I want him to get me a little more lift if at all possible. If not, I'll live.My husband has no objections! I do have pics in my profile, but they are from a month out. I just took several and will put them in my plastics file. It is password protected, but I'll send you the password once the pics are up. I do want some objective eyes to see. I'm serious when I say that when I bend over, I have a very similar hanging to what I had before surgery. And I can smush that tissue when I grab it the way you grab a burger and I really didn't expect to be able to smu**** like that or have it flatten out when I rest my breast on my hand. As I'm typing this I am reminded of the old joke, "Doctor, it hurts when I bend my arm. Well then, don't bend your arm." Guess I don't usually run around grabbing my own boobie like a burger!!

I'm so glad you are so pleased with your results. I can't wait to see.

Thanks!

Denise

Hey, I put my hands all over my breast every time I take off the compression garments.  I show them to everyone that comes to visit.  I really can't believe they're mine!

Ill give you an honest opinion. Send me the password when you have them up.
