The only thing I will say is that if your throat is really sore, get in asap for a strep test. Strep is running rampant through our area right now. And if it is strep, you'll be feeling 100% better within hours of getting an antibiotic.

I'd try to get something on board to dry you up to help with the runny nose--perhaps sudafed? Or a combo med with an antihistamine to help with the sneezing. The throat may be hurting because of post nasal drip. I've also found that Advil is aweome for sore throats, but don't remember the type of WLS you had and whether or not you c take that.

I wouldn't reschedule yet. That is a lot of time to get to feeling better. I have heard of people going in for surgery with colds, just not fevers. On the flip side of that,  I would NOT want to be sneezing after surgery. That was my worst nightmare after my surgery when a simple cough almost made me pass out.

I surely hope you are feeling better fast!

Do you have a fever? I agree with Denise. Go to the doctor and get checked for strep. Otherwise, get a lof of rest and you should feel better by the 27th. I had a cold when I had my RNY and my brachioplasty and was fine for both (I did not have a fever).

I would definitely try to nip it in the bud. I think you should have a frank conversation with your surgeon. It looks like you're going to have a tummy tuck. Are they planning on doing any muscle repair? I know with my LBL (with muscle repair), I coughed and sneezed a couple of times during recovery and it hurt like hell. I was very concerned about catching a cold and I took many preventive measures especially when my wife caught a cold to avoid coming down with one.

IMHO...Recovery can be tough, I wouldn't want to go through it with a cold.

I got sick about a week before my surgery and when I went to the Dr I told them to drug me up because I had to be better for surgery. So I got a really strong antibiotic, overdosed on Mucinex D and by surgery I was better. When I'm sick I really like to get Gatorade (usually G2 for less calories) because it keeps my electrolytes up and makes me feel more fit. I know this sounds gross but I'm also addicted to my Neti Pot- It cleans all my sinus gunk and feels like I just had my brain power washed. Also, Cayenne! It is a wonder spice for when you are sick. I recommend it in 2 ways- use it as a gargle with ho****er and salt.... it's spicy and does not taste good but within 30 seconds you'll be coughing up so much gunk you won't even know where it came from. I also like to use it in tea, which I make whenever I'm sick and sometimes when I'm healthy too. I boil water and squeeze some lemons in so the water is super tangy, then I had cayenne and a lot of honey- that mixture has worked wonders for me. Also make sure to give your body a lot of rest but get fresh air every day and stay in the shower with the hot turned up for a couple extra minutes every day.
I can tell you that you DO NOT want to have a cough/ sneeze after surgery. I have asthma and acid reflux so I cough even when I'm not sick but after surgery I did get a minor cold so I had this terrible cough and each time I felt like I was being stabbed in my abs and had to squeeze a pillow to my stomach.
Definitely check in with your PS and tell them what's up and see what they tell you.
I hope you feel better, best of luck!
