Questions you wish you would have asked

I am almost a year out from gastric bypass and am scheduled for 3/4 belt lift, extended breast lift/ba and some lipo done on my legs.

What questions do you wish you would have asked your PS before you had surgery?

Very specific stuff, like the loose skin from my butt cheek down to the bend of my knee, how will it turn out? Everything that way. This is your dime. You have every right and obligation to know. ANYTHING left unspoken is fools gold and never occurred. This is a buyers market. Yes,realistic expectations at a very high level of professionalism.

That is my issue....my butt is in folds that lay on the back of my thighs.  Did you have PS already, and if so, what is a realistic expectation from PS when our butts fall in layers like this?

Can you share some of your questions.  I have not started researching, per se, so I don't know what are things to consider that I might not have considered.

Good question!  I went to three PS consultations and chose which one I felt most comfortable with - credential-wise, etc.  I then went back for a 2nd consultation armed with my list of questions that I gathered off of this board and other sites.  Jotted down notes at that appt.

The best question I asked (in retrospect) was about if revisions needed to be done - what was his policy.  Tomorrow is my pre-surgery appt. for my LBL revision next week.  He is waiving his fees, I'm just paying the hospital cost.  My question (or comment) tomorrow will be that if he needs to take longer than anticipated to get the best result I am willing to pay the extra amount for the surgical time.

Here are the questions I have am going to ask so far.  I have been jotting them down as I think of them and as I get advice from others.  Please let me know if you think of other questions I should ask.

What should I wear that day? Where will I have drains? How long will I have drains? What type of bandages do I need to get? Do I need any ointments? What is the surgeon’s policy on revisions?

Don't worry about bandaids and ointments. Get deffininitive info/ feedback on procedures and can he or can he not get a majority if not all of the lax skin removed, hence the need for before and after photos of others.
