Extended Brachio Tomorrow!

Hehe... I always get to see other people post that their surgery is "tomorrow" and I never thought I'd get to say that :****ep expecting panic to set in, but I'm really not very scared. The recovery is scaring me... no doubt about that, but the surgery isn't... much LOL.

I am a little nervous because they can't find a compression shirt small enough for me and it seems they're on back order... I guess "small" is not a common size? I worried I won't be able to wrap myself in the ace-type bandages alone and I have no help after the first 20 hours...

Will post again when I'm able (or tonight if the panic does set in LOL).

 Hi, and congratulation on tomorrow!

I had my arms and breats done 10 days ago.  I'm small in the chest, was 34D before reduction last week.  I have two compression garments, it's a combo bra and arms.  My surgeon thought I needed a large but the extra large is more comfortable.  I'm in design Veronique and I'm surprised to need an XL.   On the bottom I was a size 10 jeans and needed XL compression after LBL and thigh lift last week.

Maybe yours will run small as well.

Good luck. I had my final follow up for extended brachio and mastopexy with augmentation today. The first couple days weren't fun, but I would do it again in a hearbeat!  Just take your pain meds and stool softeners! Keep us posted.

Congratulations and good luck! Hurry back so you can show off your new arms. Also, when I got lipo in my arms (in preparation for the lift in a few months) they were wrapped in ace bandages for the first 3 days then I got the compression sleeves from my doc but when I became the size down I ordered another pair from makemeheal.com- so for the future if you need any stuff  I really recommend the website. I hope you guys are able to work something out and that the bandages won't be too hard to master alone.

Are you sure you'll need a small?? My upper arms were 12" around pre-op and 10" around now, but with post-op with swelling I initially wore a size large compression garment and after a week or two went down to a medium.

Congrats and good luck!!! I am 2 weeks out and LOVING my new arms!!! If you are given compression socks to wear during surgery, you can actually cut the foot part off and use them on your arms.  I did that for a few days.  I haven't used any other compression though because my doctor told me to just do what I felt was most comfortable and I didn't love any form of compression.  So far, it seems to be okay without any compression.  I posted before and after pics from 12 days post op a few days ago if you want to see how mine are looking right now....

I am happy for you!!

Good luck!

I got mine done in July, and I love, love, love, love them!!!

I didn't wear a compression shirt at all. I wore ace bandages for several weeks, then child's tights during the day, ace/tights at night. I was out of all compressions by 2 months.

So... I lived LOL.

I actually have almost NO PAIN. I quit narcotic pain killers the same day as the surgery and I quit taking tylenol the morning after. I'm amazed. The incisions are about as long as they can get, from slightly below my elbow to part way down my side (side boob) and he took out 90% of my armpits as well as 1lb of lipo... but while I do have discomfort, it isn't bad at all. I was really expecting agony. He did a very careful job, I have no bruising, no external stitches and no drains. My bandages weren't even dirty when he changed them at my 1 day recheck, there was just a couple places were there was the tiniest amount of blood/discoloration.

The medium compression shirt was fine the first night because I was so swollen, but by the next day I had to add "ted hose" (I have no idea how to spell that, but they are the lower leg compression thingies they put on you during surgery, only with the foot part cut off). I hate the ted hose. They bunch up and are too tight under the armpits which hurts when I move... wish I had ordered a 'small' compression shirt online before the surgery. Tjhe surgeon's office ordered me one but it won't be there until next week.

All that is a small complain though given how bad I thought I was going to feel. I've already been told that since I'm not taking pain killers I may drive as soon as I feel comfortable enough.

Want to post pics but not sure how... says to drag and drop but how do I do that between IE tabs?

Your arms are beautiful.  I'm so glad you're pain free.  I had mine two weeks ago and I'm delighted.

Happy healing!
