Swelling after 4 months?

Paul I found your post. I had seromas after some of my reconstruction and also after my gallbladder. Docs called me juicy haha Anyway, they feel swooshy, like a waterbed. I could actually feel and hear the fluid swishing when I moved. Very different then normal swelling. Tummy tucks especially extended ones like yours (looks almost like a LBL to me) really cause a lot of internal tissue damage. We look healed on the outside but the inside is still healing for a long time. The nerves take years to heal so you can imagine all the work our bodies are still doing after only a few months. You can use compression to distribute the fluid and that can help with the area not feeling so swollen. It just takes time for all the healing and fluid absorbtion to happen.

Ok cool, I didn't think I had a seroma but I know it doesn't feel swooshy or feel like fluid moving around. I think its just swelling and its going to be there for a while. I do wear the compression vest but only during the day. It's hard to take off because I feel weird without it, like I need it. How long did you have to wear compression?

Gosh I don't even remember. It was probably about a year though. I had a LBL then a TT revision a couple months later and then a couple more revisions to my outer thigh incisions when I had other plastics over the next couple of years so I wore a compression body suit and binder off and on for a couple of years. tummy, legs, arms, boobs. Seems like something was always needing compression for 3 years or so lol Just wear it until you don't feel like wearing it. I didn't mind mine. It made me feel tight, smoothed and tucked in. They have ones that are really light weight and comfortable now so that helps.

Wow that's a long time. I was kinda hoping a year would be it for me. I still wear the compression vest, it has like little hooks on the front. I like it because it does make me feel tighter and smoother and when I take it off at night it feels like weird like I can feel a big difference and when I look in the mirror i notice the area above my incision line is looking swollen still. So I just hope it goes away within the next couple of months. But I am a lot happier with my new me. I will need a slight revision though on my left flank.

I had one of those for my arms but it had sleeves to above the elbow. I loved it. Wore it like a cami under my tops.

I'm sure you will be fine and like I posted in another thread revisons are almost a given. Our bodies are 3 dementional and it's really hard for the PS to configure the incisions and skin removal to drape perfectly over the body. Most of us need an additional nip or tuck.

Yeah, unfortunately almost came out the way I wanted it, I mean don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy with the outcome, but my left flank still needs a little work. So he's gonna go around a little bit more, but I'm gonna wait a few months for that. Probably going to be another 2-4 inches around.
