Anyone more than 4 months out still have the same amount of swelling above the incision line? I don't know if its muscle or swelling, but feels like swelling and sometimes feels to hard like muscle. Just wondering who else feels it to.

I've heard this before. I'm just 11days post LBL & mini med. Thigh lift I'm extremely swollen and rigid just above the incision line. I only have 2 drains total, 1 on each hip. I saw on an old post I think from Lizzy25 about solidified blood/fluid in the tissue. My PS tried to drain abdomen today and got nothing. I wonder about your drain placement?

My drains were placed below the incision line above the groin. I'm gonna have to ask my PS but was just wondering if some of the other people here had issues this far out. Thanks for the reply.

I'm interested in seeing the responses to this one. My abdomen rift above the incision line feels like it protrudes a full
inch and is tight as a watermelon. My PS today just put his hand on his chin and looked like it was pretty unusual. Started to admit me for surgery, decided to drain area and got zilch after several attempts. He said he thinks tissue is just swollen. I'm hoping it's not solidified blood, but Paul it sounds like your drain placement was sufficient for incision area.

Paul,
I'm 6 months out - LBL and extended Thigh with Lipo.  I still have a lot of swelling, but mine is generalized, not localized.  You might want to check with your doctor to make sure it's not a seroma that hasn't absorped.

How do you know if its a seroma or not? It kinda feels like muscle and at other times feels like swelling. I'll ask him, I have a post-op coming up. Thanks for the tip.

My whole abdomen still swells up by night time.  I go back in my sports bra and garment to sleep.  I'm 11+ months out.  I feel comfortable in my garment so it's not too bad.

Yeah, its been kinda bugging me because I'm exercising and doing core exercises but after a month I just kinda said, heck with it, I'm not seeing the desired results because it does feel like there is swelling preventing me from seeing better results.

Usually swelling is generalized and a seroma is localized.  Ask your surgeon what he thinks, but I imagine it's just swelling.  I had a lot of that with my TT - this time my thighs swell more than my Tummy does.  I can also see swelling above my LBL incision - the only way I notice really is that the curve of my butt and waist disappears.
It's tough with the swelling, but in time yours will get better.  I have seen mine lessen.  I'm 7 mos post op.

Thanks, I think its swelling, its above the incision line so I guess I have to deal with it. So how much do you get after 7 months?
