Wow.  Hit by a bus about covers it.

People - legs, arms and TT at the same time...I don't recommend it!

I got home from overnight stay at the hospital this afternoon.  The two hour ride was rough, but walking up the flight of stairs to getto my recovery area was terrible.

Still can't get up without help.  This is day 2.  Getting better at walking.  Thought I'd need a walker at home, it was so challenging to get from my chair to the bathroom.

Biggest accomplishment so far: can finally tell when I have to pee. :) ah, the little things!

My guess is, this will be worth it, but the first two days are rougher than I expected, mobility is an issue.

Congratulations, I know what you mean about the bus!!! I'm glad I went into this in great shape. I know the first 2-3 days I was wondering why I did this to myself. I had LBL & thigh lift along with Lipo. here and there. I get pretty tired just walking, getting up and down. I do love the hi-rise toilet seat. Doing fine with regular recliner.Glad I didn't rent a lift. Slept on the couch night 4&5, liked the different position. So glad you did well!!! Expect the possibility of emotional rollercoaster as drugs and body leave and heal. I know I feel 100% better since the first couple of days and I got off the pain meds. Surgery 12-8 - have 2 drains hopefully removed on 12-17. Hope your recovery is easy and uneventful.

 Hey Patty,

8 hours in OR, 45 minutes in recovery.  My anesthesiologist ROCKED.

Aww sweetie--I'm sorry. I sooooo remember that feeling. And Steve is right, those meds will play with your head. Granted, they are a necessary evil to keep you even remotely comfortable, but be mindful that you will be a bit depressed. I had gotten a bedside commode in case I couldn't get to the bathroom--perhaps an option? I even thought about getting some depends so I could just pee where I sat. Mobility improved pretty rapidly and didn't have to go that route, although I didn't have arms done.

Each day will get better, but don't be shocked if you have days where it feels like you've taken a step back. You'll pick up two steps the next day!

Hang in there!

 Thanks Denise,
Its good to remember that every moment can't be forward and that it gets better.

By 6 am this morning I was able to get to the bathroom all by myself!  I was so proud.

Getting better, hour by hour.
