Compression garments to train the skin
Did anyone use any or know of any body compression garments to "train" the skin while you're losing your excess weight? I know doctor's use them after plastics but I was wondering if I should use some now w/the large amount of weight I need to lose.
My underarms are the worst! There is so much baggy skin preop under my triceps and its saggy. I am hoping that a combination of compression and exercise may minimize the excessive skin and sagginess to come.
Any feedback or opinions you have for this would be helpful.

Well honestly, once you've got stretch marks there's not a lot you can do to tighten the skin back up. Skin's ability to 'bounce back' is determined by the ability of its collagen to stretch. Once the collagen in the skin has stretched to its maximum point, the skin can't stretch any more without tearing. So at this point it almost does start to tear a little bit, but it's so gradual that your body has time to fill in with scar tissue so that there is no actual break in the skin. That's what a stretch mark is, it looks different from your surrounding skin because it's composed of scar tissue. Once you have scar tissue it means youv'e already used up all of the skin's stretchiness and gone over. The scar tissue won't contract or get smaller. The skin between the scar tissue might a little bit. So you might see a little improvement but don't expect miracles.
There are 2 things you can do to improve saggy skin: fill it with muscle (exercise) or cut it off (plastic surgery). Or the popular third option, stuff it into a pair of spanx ;)
