Financing Plastic Surgery with So-so credit

I am desperately wanting to get an armlift, which here in the Raleigh NC area is going to be around 5500. How can I get financing? Care credit did not approve me.....I hate how I look and am so embarrassed about my arms being so big. I hide more behind my clothes now than I ever did pre lapband.......If anyone can recommend a surgeon or a finance company, please do...If dollars were tears I could've had this surgery a hundred times by now.

Is there anyway you can get a co signer?  I know exactly how your feeling...my insurance paid for my tummy tuck but I need my arms and breasts done and don't have the money for it either.  I thought after losing weight I would feel better about myself but it's always something else preventing that...frustrating!

Don't know if you have ever looked up for Credit Score but it might help you understand what creditors are looking at when you apply for a loan or credit card. My Fico.com has a good section on managing credit and improving your credit score for getting loans and better interest rates.

If you belong to a credit union they are generally a little more forgiving when it comes to loaning money and interest rates. If you have a 401K at work you can maybe get loan from that and pay yourself back so to speak. A personal/unsecured loan with monthly payments maybe an option. You could posssibly apply for several credit cards at once and see how many give you a card and what kind of credit limit and interest rates you get.

Personally I have been self pay for everything to this point, I did a 401k loan for my WLS & the plastics I just had 15 weeks ago and have 4 more years and 16 grand left to pay. I wish I would have had my arms done at same time as my other procedures as the cost for the others is out of reach for me now.

I am looking for info on a finance company or surgeoon who may offer in house financing. I've explored other options so do not need advice on other ways to get the money. If those were possibilitilies, I wouldn't be asking about financing.

Most surgeons only accept certain finance companies.... I havent seen any that offer in-house financing.
I think the most important thing is finding the best surgeon for you, then work towards getting the procedure financed/paid for... more than finding a surgeon that will take you. The surgeon I saw gave a quote that was good for a whole year so it gave time to save up/look into options for paying for the surgery. I first got a quote 3 years ago and saved up until I was ready to go ahead... I paid a portion down and financed the rest.
I would suggest pulling your credit report and see if there is inaccurate information you can dispute, if there is anything on there that shouldnt be it can make a big difference in the score.
Id say at this point I would start saving and maybe look at getting a 2nd job. I am picking up a 2nd job next year to pay down the portion I had to finance as the interest/payments are not cheap and I want to pay it off ASAP. I also want to get more procedures so I need to save for that as well.

I'm sorry if you felt like I stepped on your toes a little, was just trying to offer some advice I felt may be relevant to your situation.

Worst case scenerio, keep making payments on schedule and after 2 years of doing this, credit companies are more lenient. Also, you could look a little further away to see if costs are less. I paid $3900 for my arms.

Bubba, you seem like such a sweetheart, I'm sorry if I came across harsh....Trust me, I've thought of every option, financing is my only way at this point to get this done in 2012....I just can't bare another summer of hiding.....
