My Drains - B - Gone!!!

My Plastic Surgeon removed the last two drains today. He said I was doing great and to comeback in two weeks for a follow up.

Almost back to normal...Off of the pain meds. I'm not tired all the time.

The only thing is sometimes I swell, and my stomach feels very numb when that happens. It's a weird feeling. My doctor said that may happen up to a year.

Tomorrows my first day back to work.

They both drains were serous fluid. I was outputting 20 cc in each drain. Doctor told me that he pushed the limit as normally he doesn't like leaving drains in past 10 days. But since I was still outputting non serous fluid in signifcant quantities he gave it a bit more time.

It is a good day indeed!! So glad you are progressing well. So do I understand you don't have numbness unless you are swollen? I am still so numb--it is incredibly annoying. It's this weird tight sensation coupled with the numbness I think more than just the numbness actually.

Maybe I should rephrase my comment. I'm always swollen. But sometimes I get really swollen. When I'm really swollen that's the point when I am numb, I also get really tight, So tight that I feel like I'm going to Pop stitches if I'm not careful. When that happens I have a tendency to hunch over to relieve the stress.

I have seen posts where it says this is the point when the compression garments help. But my doctor doesn't want me to wear compression until I'm at least three weeks out. He told me I can start wearing them on Monday.

He believes that it's more important for the body to re-establish blood flow. Compression at this point would prohibit that.
