Long Incision Thigh Lift -- Why is it so bad?

Hi Michelle - that's right, I forgot you had both your arms and thighs done together!  My understanding about the thighs is that it's difficult the first few days but overall the recovery is faster.  Do you remember how many days it was until you started to feel better and able to move/sit more comfortably?   Did you stay in an aftercare facility?   I am for 3 nights because my dad's house (where I'm staying the rest of my recovery) has two flights of stairs and I'm wondering how I'll get myself up them even on day 4.

Also, how much swelling in your legs did you have and were you happy overall with the results on your thighs?

I LOVED the results.  I stayed for a couple days and luckily my apartment had an elevator and is a small place.  I honestly remember the arms WAY more then the thighs...since I was in compression most of the time I just remember how exhausting NOT using my arms was.

I know this was my hardest recovery but again I think that had more to do with the arms then the thighs.

Michelle, I'm having a LBL and mini thigh lift (crescent cut) what should I be prepared for? My extra skin is actually and remarkably very minimal to be having these procedures. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Surgery is 12-8. How long were your surgeries. Thanks

If I can give you any advice.  It would be to wear a good surgical compression garment 24/7!
I had my LBL/Anchor Cut TT/Butt Aug/Full Thigh lift with extensive Lipo done in May.
I couldn't have done it without my garment.  It kept my incisions closed, kept my swelling down and made it bearable.  The garment had an opening so I could go potty and that helped me keep things simple while sitting.  Believe me, without the garment I would have gone nuts.  Your incisions are so sensitive and walking and sitting is very difficult.  The garment protected them very well!

Thanks for the advice.  With my past surgeries I always felt more comfortable with my garment on then off, so what you're saying definitely makes sense.  How long was it until you were comfortable sitting?

As long as I was wearing my garment, I was comfortable sitting.  It was when I removed it for my showers when I realized how difficult and uncomfortable my thighs were when I was sitting.  My garment was a designveronique from my surgeon and it was very snug, gave me a lot of compression on my thighs and helped immensly.

You had your previous surgeries with Dr.Agha, right? Is he doing the long thigh lift too? If you don't mind my asking, did you think the spiral thigh lift was worth it? Good luck with your next procedure, I hope everything goes well. :)

I'm having both arms and thighs done next Friday.  I got a female urinal from Amazon so that I can just stand there and pee.  I don't figure I'll be pooping all that much and hopefully the clinic that I'll be in for the first week will have a toilet seat riser for those moments.   I don't want to limit my fluid intake for fear of having to pee too often, so I got the urinal.

I hate to tell you this Lee, but (TMI Alert!) you will want to remove your garment if you do have to poo!  We all did this -

I figured I'd have to remove it to poop.  I thought the urinal would help keep me upright for peeing.

So how the heck did you get back in your garment?  Oy, I guess we can't hold it for two weeks.  :)
