Hi guys...can we talk post-mastopexy bras?
Got the post-op teaching stuff today for my pending mastopexy (no implant) and brachioplasty in 2 weeks.
Looks like it will be 2 weeks of ACE wraps for the arms, then nothing after that.
For the breasts...a "good support bra with no wires" that I need to buy.
So, I am polling the vets:
What did you buy and where did you get'tem?
Likes and dislikes?
How did you pick a size if you bought ahead of time?
I wear a 38 D now but I have alot of side boobage that I hope will be gone.
Any advice?
Thanks Everyone!

Well I'm still not wearing a bra because my implants never dropped. But I did buy some from Target that I was planning on wearing. They're soft sports bras that are kind of 'one size fits all" and weren't very expensive. They're the kind made of spandex that you just pull over your head. I gave them to my friend who loves them. I think you should be sure to get bras that don't dig in right underneath your breasts because you'll have incisions there, so try them on while keeping that in mind.

Hi Lizzy...I wonder tho'...how will I swing the pull over kind with my arms all jacked up?
Thinking I might need the good ol' fashion kind.

good point, good point. Maybe save those for 1 or 2 months post op, to sleep in....
makemeheal has a lot of specialty bras but everything there is so danged expensive! Maybe check out their selection though, they have some nice looking ones by Rainey that hook all the way up the front, they look super comfy. And their bands are lower than normal so they wouldn't interfere with incisions.

Thanks! I guess I have 2 weeks to get out there and have a look around.

for the first 2 weeks I rotated the 2 surgical (front hook) bras I received when I had my surgery. By 2 weeks I could manuever my arms enough to use a no hook one over my head. I just got a really good nike one from Marshalls for $10.00. I also got one at Kohls for about the same price in the women's sporting goods area. I think I get better support with these ones than the front hook ones I got at Wallie World. My PS also said I didn't need any compression sleeves after the 2 week mark. Every once ina while I do want something on my arms. In the Kohls mens sports dept. I got a long sleeved compression t-shirt. I got a mans small and it feels great on both my arms and the girls. We are also about the same size. Good luck. The surgery was far easier than I thought it was going to be.
