Wisk I would have heard about this a while back maybe I would have went out of state to have this done who knows maybe would have given me decent waistline.

Don't know if it's been discussed on here or not I never saw it. Looks like it's a newer procedure only performed by a a couple doctors now, just came out last year.

There is a website http://www.corsettrunkplasty.com/ to check it out.

From the looks of the scars, what they're doing is an extended fleur de lis abdominoplasty with an extra little horizontal incision at the top of the vertical scar, I can't tell how far that little bit goes but in one case it resembles a bra-line lift. It looks a lot like what I had (minus the bra-line lift). I guess if you were to get it it wouldn't be a bra-line lift, it'd be a back lift. Unless you like to dress up when you're alone and haven't told us yet ;)

I think it's a combination of procedures that are already being done by a lot of surgeons, lumped together and given a new name. Plastic surgery is all about marketing and they're constantly looking for ways to 'brand' themselves to set themselves above all the others.

The 2 results they have DO look really good. The price they're asking (13k) is just above what I paid for my fleur de lis abdominoplasty (11.5k) and I guess if it includes a bra-line lift it's a good deal. I wonder about them only using 1 drain and usually taking it out after only a day. I shudder to think about where I'd be if my drain were taken out after 1 day, or even 1 week!

I wish they'd find a new name. I really hate the word "trunkplasty". It reminds me of elephants. Or big fat luggage trunks. hahaha. They didn't call my breast lift a "pancakeplasty" (though that would've been accurate).

As far as dress up goes, as an adult I have amazingly restrained myself from doing so. But when I was just a little kid and my folks weren't doing so well financially, my mom would put me in some of sister's clothes to save money and she let my hair grow down all the way down my back. People used to think oh what cute girls you have, and she wonders why she just has granddoggies and no grandkids.

If I were just starting now to do research and knew about his procedure I maybe would have looked into it. I can see where you are saying about marketing, and some surgeons looking to set themselves apart with something new. This surgery intrigues me because of the middle area in my abs where I have the extra set of saddle bags I got for free. I'm only in it for 8500 right now so not a ton of cash so far, but this spare tire I'm carrying with me make me feel like I could tube sledding as is and take off by spreading my bat wings.

Normally trunk is referred more to the behind than anything else so the choice of labels is a little confusing to me.

Someone on Dr. Sauceda's group asked about this procedure yesterday.  Maybe look her up.  She had a consult with someone who does it.

About that dressing up, when my son was little,he had gorgeous long dark hair.  When I picked him up at daycare he was generally wearing some sort of ball gown.  He looked great as a girl.  Today at 37 he's an incredibly hunky man and as far as I know, doesn't wear dresses.  I'll have to ask his girlfriend when they call later.  :)

I hate that trunk name too!  Made me think of the elephant I rode in Thailand!!

I thought you were referring to my little story about me being goldie locks in the girls clothes, I was thinking about it at work when I was busy working HEHE and realized what you were getting at.

So MY BAD, I need to get to one of those and maybe find some people to make fun of so I feel better about myself.

I knew when you stood up it would hit you on the rebound. You'll have to come up with a code word for when you are "opening up to the world" so I know when to keep the wolves at bay! I actually hadn't read about your affinity for dress up prior to my post so that is kind of funny! Nope--just a play on words referring to the chicks at the renn fest--oh, already said that!!!

Hope you didn't lose too much sleep--or in this case work--over it!

Looking at the turkey tonight, I kept thinking it was a corseted trunkplasty the way it was sewn up.  Those words just aren't going to leave my mind anytime soon!!
