Just wanted to provide a follow up for those with upcoming surgery dates, as I found it so very helpful.

Had surgery last Friday stayed overnight in the hospital. So glad I requested that. The nurses were all so wonderful, private room. Great experience, and gave me a chance to get used to maneuvering around with drains etc.

I have 2 drains, they have significantly less drainage now than before. I hope by the end of the weekend I will be able to get them pulled.

The first 3-4 days were kinda sucky, but what else would one expect. I stopped taking narcotic pain pills on Monday, and now just take one x strength Tylenol when needed. Mainly for my sore back muscle . Lower back is a little sore from hunched over, plus a little lipo in that area.

I am only swollen where I had lipo done, which was very little on my outer thighs ( still can't figure how he found any fat there) and lower back.

Yesterday and today I feel so much more human. I find that I can't eat much at a time, as I'm very tight. A little worried about losing weight. But i try to just eat small amounts often , and at least 3 shakes a day. Saw my tummy for the first time yesterday ( just looking down at it) . Today I will remove my binder and bra to take pictures. Then I'll get a real look at things.

I will post pictures after the holiday as to not ruin anyone's appetite for thanksgiving LOL.

All in all not a bad recovery thus far ( knock on wood) .

I still am living in my lift chair and bed with lots of pillows. I wanted to go to the grocery store today, but my husband wouldn't let me. Said I might catch cold. Good thinking, because if I had to cough on a regular that would kill me.

Anywho.....I'll update again next week with pictures!

Good deal!! Can't wait to see your pics!! And I'm with you--coughing was a nightmare early out. And thank God I never had to sneeze. Pretty well sure I'd have passed out with that!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi

Yes, I'm am very careful to try not to drink too fast, had a couple scares of water going down the wrong way. Scary. I sneezed yesterday for the first time. I was grateful I had just taken 2 Tylenol.

Hope you have a great holiday!

Glad to hear you recovering well. Listen to your husband (can't believe those words came out of me) and take it slow. No sense overdoing it now and then regretting it later. Good luck with the drains.

Good advise. I'm not doing anything! So glad as the days go by it has been easier to get comfortable to really rest and heal.

Have a great holiday!

Yaaay for you!  You had a lot done.  I've heard the lipo stuff hurts. I guess it would be like having major bruising from a fall or something.  Trauma to that area...  Give me some tips.  What got your thru the first few "sucky" days?

Take care not to get a cough!  That would be tough.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Jenny

What got me through the first few days. NARCOTICS! Really, just took them every 4 hours and kept up with them. So mostly just slept and woke every few hours to walk a bit. Back to the recliner sleep some more. Be sure to drink lots of water and protein shakes as well as get right back into your vitamin routine too. It's a haze now, hydrocodone is good. LOL.

I just spit out my water.  You made me laugh when you responded with NARCOTICS!  I'm with you girl, I'm not turning them away.

I'm taking a friend to Mexico with me so that she can make me protein shakes and keep me on my vitamin routine.  I figure the drugs might have me space out on it without help.

Relax and take it easy.  You deserve it!
