Im 2 and 1/2 weeks out from PS and notice my appetite is low and has been..also my eating capacity is less

Anyone else have this after surgery? How long after until your appetite returned?

I kinda notice the same thing after I get sick too, decreased appetite for some time.

We had plastics on the same day and I am experiencing the same thing.  I can't even finish my morning protein drink.  Only about 3/4.  I used to be able to eat 4oz of cottage cheese with no problem.  I am lucky if I can eat 2.5 oz.  I hope it will get better.

I experienced the same thing my surgeon did warn me this would happen. He said it was important that I keep my protein and fluid levels up to aid in healing.

This is actually very normal after plastics. As bariatric patients we already have a decreased capacity for eating, then we have plastic surgery which causes alot of swelling. Then on top of that we are wearing binders to keep the swelling down which is kind of restricting us as well. I think the combo of all three is what does it.
Do your best to keep up on increased protein levels and fluids and don't rush getting back to regular food to soon. I threw up twice during this period and with my hernia repair was not fun at all. Took me 4 weeks to get back to normal, so take it easy till then and don't ru****

Get well
