How the hell am I gonna get in and out of this Spanx thing after I get my boobs and arms done?
Tell me!!
How am I gonna get tights, pants, cute boots...anything???

What did you do?
How did you dress?

I am only taking 2 and a half weeks off of work. How will I get back in my office duds?

oh, woe is me.

Well first of all, you lucky dog! I'm happy you're getting rid of your batwings, you'll have to let me know what the recovery for that is like. I hope you have a lot of button-up shirts because getting anything over your head for the first week (even with help) is not gonna be pleasant at all so best not to try. I only did a breast lift/aug and didn't do my arms at the same time so I can only give you advice from that standpoint. I could dress myself by sitting on the edge of a chair and pulling my undies and sweats on/off. I think tights I would have been able to put on by myself at about 2 weeks PO. If you MUST wear tights or pantyhose and you anticipate having someone helping you get them on/off maybe you should buy a pair in a size larger than you usually get so they'll be easier to pull up. Then again if nobody at work will be able to help you, you might just think about some thigh-highs so you can still pee. Spanx are gonna be difficult to deal with at first. Can you get the spanx in one size larger or would that totally defeat the purpose? It can be done, my mom helped me struggle into my anti-bloodclot stockings every day. You just have to be really nice and thankful to the person helping you haha. Or can you swap the spanx for an abdominal binder or support garment?

Long skirts are nice because they require less maneuvering than pants and aren't restrictive. Do you have any nice long black skirts? I have one for thanksgiving so I can hide my gross-looking drain. They're very forgiving. And you can often find them cheap at thrift stores.

Do you really think you'll need the Spanx at almost 4 months out from your tt? I would say just don't bother with it. Except for the first 3 days, I did not need any help after my bracchioplasty. I was ready to go back to work in 10 days. My boobs were easy and never caused me any trouble.

Boobs are a breeze. Absolutely NO pain. I had BL/BA and bra line lift.  Slightly sore, but no real pain, incision is itchy.  I am not quite 3 weeks out and am amazed at how easy this recovery has been. I really envisioned much worse.  I'm with Laura, lose the lower body garments while the arms heal, but at almost three weeks, I could easily put on spanx.  Had on super control tights last friday without a problem. Arms over the head remains the only hard part.

I agree with all of the above.  I was dressing myself easily a few days out.  Raising overhead to put on a sports bra was a SLOW process for a few days so that I didn't pull anything - but still not impossible.

Both BL and brachio recovery was SUPER easy - very little pain.  The worst with the arms was the tightness - but my surgeon recommended (carefully) stretching into that tightness to loosen things up.

Ditto what the others said.  I was feeling 75% back to normal at 2 weeks out.  Of course then I ended up with a MRSA infection which knocked me on my butt for a week but now I am slowly starting to feel better again and the infections are healing up.

My doctor wanted me to keep the lower compression on as well as the bra/arm straight jacket.  But lately I have been losing the lower garmet because it rubs on the incision line where I have a couple of healing up infections and it irritates it so I just quit wearing it.
