Compressions stockings

Hi Lee,

I am getting very excited too...I can't wait!  But first you...I can't wait for yours!

I would for sure wear them on that long plane ride..and you need to move around, leg exercises too.

I would try a medical supply store.  Teds hose is the brand that we use in the hospital.  They are sized using measurements..so check the packing out and them measure so you can get the right size.  Sometimes they are alittle hard to get on...if you put alittle powder in them it makes them alittle easier to glide on.

So much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving huh!!

Wish I could give you some help, but I didn't wear them with my TT.  My husband had to wear them for 24 hours after having surgery to remove a kidney stone.  But you are having something completely different.

Good luck- The 9th will be here in a blink of an eye!

Holly, how are you feeling?  What's going on with your health?

Thanks for asking about my health.  I'm feeling wonderful.  I had my first spinal injection yesterday (Lumbar Sympathetic Block.)  I was scared to death and cried all the way to the OR.  I didn't feel a thing and it was over in a flash.

The doctor is very happy with the quick results from the Flector patches and the medication.  She said I may only need one or two more injections.

It was a rough week last week.  I was diagnosed with this, my cat of 14 years passed away and I think my MIL is getting Dementia.  This was too much for me to handle all at once.  But now that I know I am on the road to recovery, I'm feeling much better.

Oh Holly! Nobody should have to go through all that in the same week!

I'm sorry you have so much on your plate.  The good news is the great results with the first shot.
Please keep us updated!

Mine went up to just below the kneecap. Don't be afraid to return them for a better size or length because you're absolutely not supposed to fold them down at the top, this increases the pressure and is a no-no. You might want to bring a few different sizes with you because you might swell a little bit in your legs anyway and what fits now might not fit later. Also I'd recommend bringing a little tub of a good hypoallergenic unscented body moisturizer with you (my dermatologist specifically recommended one called CeraVe and it has worked well for me, got it at Rite Aid) because after the surgery your skin can get REALLY dry. My whole body felt like it was going to flake off even though I only had a TT.

You're definitely in my prayers! Very excited to hear about your experience south of the border!

Thanks for those tips Lizzy!  I was just thinking about moisturizer this morning.  I'll take something with me.

Lee,

The compression garments you will get from Dr. S will go down to mid calf.  You will have a two piece garment set; compression sleeves and a built in soft bra without compression.  The other compression garment goes from just below the breasts to mid calf...a nice open crotch with plenty of room for bathroom duties.  I found that wearing a thin tank top underneath made it more comfy as the two don't fasten together.  I am constantly pulling the bra part down and the tummy garment up.

The garments are worn for 6 weeks and the chin strap for the face lift 6 months.

Thank you Kathy!  I was wondering what Dr. Sauceda provides.  Good to know about the tank tops.  I have a couple in a pile to take with me.

How are you doing?  Have you posted any pictures yet?

He orders them from the designveronique dealer in MTY.  You can go to www.designveronique.com and see the exact garments he will be giving you.

I always order an extra and take it with me - I hate having to wa**** out each time.  He will give you two and for me a third was great because I always have the leaking drain area!  Yuck!

I bought my stockings at Walmart in the pharm section of the store.  They are perfect and I still wear them everyday to help decrease my swelling.
