Thank you Patty.  Yes, I agree that it probably is a blessing.  I honestly didn't think there was anything wrong after having two sets of x-rays.  I just couldn't figure out the swelling and redness.  So I was completely shocked to be diagnosed with something I had never heard of.  And then when I started looking at it online I just started getting sick.

Fortunately, this is suppose to be a very painful thing.  I am in no pain, so I am very blessed.

Thanks for the hug.  I could sure use a few right now.

Have you had a bone density scan? Bone loss is very common with RNY. I think we are supposed to get a scan every 2 years.

Yes, I had one last year and it came out normal.  I thought about that too.  Maybe I need them more often?

Just thought I would let you know that I made it through my first spinal injection today.  I was concious, but sedated, and did not fill a thing.  I think I felt a little bit of the local given, but they gave me more sedation when I said what was that.   Then I guess I got the injection because a few minutes later I was getting into a wheel chair and on my way to recovery.

The doctor is very impressed with the reduction of swelling.  She thinks I am doing well on the meds.  She hopes that I will only need 1 or 2 more injections!

Thanks for all of your prayers and support!
