TT scar really high, need advice, please!

I had my TT among other things 11 days ago.

I had discussed with my surgeon putting my scar low to fit in bathing suits, etc. She said if I wanted I could wear one so she could make sure it was low enough but I thought it was redundant and figured the standard is putting the scar low.

Well my scar is really high on the sides, it isnt hidden in my underwear or any bathing suit bottoms by about 2-3 inches on the hips.

Im starting to get really upset, what the hell am i supposed to do? i can ask her to revise it i think but i still have to pay anesthesia and who the f*ck wants more surgery, that would be my 4th this year! another recovery? WTF

im freaking out. please give me some advice. what would you do?

i have been searching the web for suits it will be hidden in and unless i buy a gigantic womens brief, forget it. im really upset, im happy the skin is gone but i thought i would be able to hide this freaking thing.

Well, there are lots of different types of bathing suits out there. I am sure you will find one that works. What does your surgeon say? Have you had a follow-up visit?

I did a lot of research on scar placement (and belly buttons) before I had surgery.  I have noticed here that some surgeons do put them really high. I wonder why they do that. Maybe they feel they can give better results as far as getting rid of the skin. Does anyone have any insight???

I'm sorry you are having a hard time dealing with this. Try to relax and focus on your healing.

Ugh that sucks! You should definitely ask about a revision. Just asking doesn't hurt, you could find out what it would entail and if you can't afford it now maybe you could save up for it and get it later. I agree a 4th surgery in 1 year is ridiculous and can't be good for your body. If you really need it fixed though you could wait a while. She should really give you a break on the fees because she knew you wanted a low scar.  In the meantime, after the incision is healed you could try using makeup to cover it when you wanna wear a bikini, like Dermablend. Iv'e heard good things about it.

My scar is up high too and in the back (had a 360) it goes way up several inches above my crack.  I don't like that part at all.  But....it does fade so its not that big a deal eventually.

I had my TT on April 15 and my scar - especially on the side is barely noticeable.  I did keep it super moisturized - CONSTANTLY.  I just can't get over it.  I would research options but wait and see because it may turn out better than you think.

I dont know that a revision will make it lower.  Can you post a picture so we can see how high you're talking about?

I'm sorry, try not to freak out too much.  They do fade away quite a bit.

If it's just on the sides and a little bit I don't think I'd worry about it too much if your only concern is wearing a bikini. You're probably the only person who will really notice it. I have one spot on my back left hip that went a little higher and it doesn't prevent me from wearing a bikini and no one has said a word to me on it. Just look at some of the people on the beach wearing bikini's. The majority of people wearing them probably shouldn't as they all have much bigger issues showing than a little scar at the hips.

I just want to thank everyone who popped in on my post to talk me off the figurative ledge.

Again, I think its the narcotics getting out of my system making me an emotional mess.

This is the conclusion I have come to for the day : What's done is done. Wednesday I will see IF, WHEN, and HOW things can be fixed or improved. Depending on the answer to that..

I know that : Scars fade over time, bathing suits can cover some of it, I am lucky to have had the 4lbs of skin removed period.

And if anyone comes on here asking for a TT- we tell them to wear their goshdarned bottoms into the OR!!!

Ill update you guys early Wednesday afternoon.

thanks again,
kristen

A friend of mine did wear her low rise jeans to pre-op so that the surgeon would mark her incisions lower. Worked for her and her incision is super low.
