body lift help: costs, what to expect;
I did my Gastric sleeve surgery back in February and I am thinking of getting rid of the extra skin. I am flabby all around. So I contacted the clinic that I did my surgery in Mexico and they recommended me this: resection of the stomach (I think that is abdominoplasty or tummy tuck) and of the arms (arm lift, I presume), and in the next surgery, a breast reduction as well with the legs. Both surgeries will cost me about $4000 each one.
I am just wondering if the costs are very cheap or average or expensive. I am also wondering what am I to expect after surgery, the recovery time, if it is painful. What the heck is a drain? And does a drain mean that I will have tubes stuck in me or what? When will I be walking again, can I climb stairs? If you've done this, how was it for you?
I am just a little scared because after my bariatric surgery, I had some complications about a month after (lack of nutrition I think, but once I gone to a nutritionist, I got better), and it made me worried about this next surgery. Its not like I don't trust the surgeons because these same surgeons operated on me before and they did an excellent job. I just need to hear someone who has already done it.

Well, I'm only 5 days out from my Anchor Cut Circumferentail lift and brachioplasty (arms) I had then done close to home at a total cost of 10.000.21 plus a couple hundred on extra stuff like high tise toilet seat, shower chair, extea protein drinks, a recline lift chait rental for a month. I am taking anywhere from 6 - 8 weeks off and I have 7 drains. One in each arm and 5 in the stomach area. These have to be milked and drained twice a day. No pain at all and am taking one pain pill every 6 hours along with an antibiotic.
Where you have it done is up to you and yes you have been given a good quote but I did not want to be that far away as complications can happen and what's the point of a good price if complication occur when I get home and having troble finding some one to fix me.
I can walk around as long as I do not bend and I cannot life more that a half gallon of milk as I am healing.
So that's my story so far.

The prices you gave, IMHO, are very low for a US based surgeon, but average in Mexico. I had quotes from many, including Dr Sauceda in Mexico (who is the only one I would really consider going to there).
Drains are just what they sound like, tubes that will come out of little holes in your body. You will have to deal with them for about a week or two, some people have to have them in longer. It depnds on your surgeon and the amount of drainage you have. The tubes are attached to a little bulb at the end that collects the fluid. You have to empty those bulbs and strip, or "milk" the drains. They dont necessarily hurt, but it's annoying to have to manage the tubes and bulbs, and after they're in for awhile the area around the drain can get irritated.
I had a lower body lift in May (along with an arm lift, and breast lift with implants). The first few days are slow going, but you have pain pills to manage. You can get comfortable if you prop yourself with pillows. A recliner works well, too. It's important to try to walk to prevent blood clots. You will walk hunched over and slowly, but it is all manageable. I think I went up my stairs around Day 4 or 5.
