I am 10 days out from my brachio BL/BA. very happy with the results even if my recovery seems to be going slow.  Feeling really depressed.  I could cry at the drop of a hat. This  is totally not my usual MO.  Anyone else experience this?

Yes. You're still getting over the anesthesia plus immobile. It gets better, I promise!! Get your rest and your protein and you will fell better soon. Hang in there!!

I so agree with Laura!! It takes a while to feel "normal" .  Just take it day by day .

Well of course!!!  You know the drill.  We all hit the depression and if you usually don't then count yourself lucky.  I am just hoping I am past my "weepy" days.  I had about 3 of them last week.

Pixielee, this seems to be universal. All the build up and great anticipation to get the procedure done, and then...... we are side lined, limited, and probably a case of buyers remorse or guilt. These days will be few. Your results are going to last you a life time and so will the enjoyment. You are to be commended for having the courage to change your life. This has been a long journey and sometimes there is a let down when you have scaled the mountain. There are new adventures now available to you that previously weren't. Continue being strong. I noticed on another post you indicated you had Zofran and a Scopalamine patch, how severe was your nausea. This is a big concern for me on 12-8, anyone please. Thanks

Steve,

had NO nausea at all.  First time with a scopolomine patch. I think it made a real difference.  Also thanks for your kind words.  Got out for a little bit today and that really helped though now I'm ready for a  nap!

Kate, thank you for the info very much. I go for my pre-op on 11-18 and I will not be bashful about my concerns. I have done everything within my power to prepare for an uneventful surgery and I expect the same from the medical staff. Thanks again and take care of your self.
Wishing you the very best.

Kate, I'm so glad it's getting better for you!

Reading what everyone has said will hopefully prepare me better for my 12/9 surgery.  I decided to pay for a friend to come to Mexico for me because of the depression aspect.  I'm not generally the depressed type, but it sounds like others are not as well and still go through it.
