Icky white stuff in drains (1 week post op)

I am seeing my surgeon tomorrow so I'm not overly worried, just curious.

I have 5 drains in me from TT and side-chest skin excision. Everything started out draining dark red and has been lightening up into a yellow and clear color, yay. But in 2 of my drains there is now some sort of white residue that isn't in all the rest. Nothing smells bad, no sign of infection, doing everything as prescribed. Does anyone know what this is? White blood cells?

I was told it was fatty residue. It also was only in a couple of my 4 drains. Congrats on your surgery!

That would explain why it looks kind of like chicken fat. OMG. That is so gross!!! I guess you don't get 6lbs of fat removed from your body without a little bit of that.

Thanks for the explanation, makes perfect sense to me!
