first Fleur de lis TT pics are up
Just posted the first pics from my fleur de lis tummy tuck. Haven't had the energy till now to do it. I still can't stand up straight so I'm hunched over. But I'm SO happy that my wrinkly sack of skin is GONE! The lower abdomen is lumpy and uneven because it's filled with huge amounts of clotted blood that I lost when I bled out. It feels very strange. It's firm and when I push on it it moves as a whole, but it definitely doesn't feel like it's part of me. Feels like a steak sitting under my skin.
My ladybits are filled with blood too, they're very dark red/purple and puffy and hard. Definitely looks like an alien ken doll. PS says it'll take a long time for that to resolve because gravity is working against me.
The site on my arm where they had the catheter giving me a blood transfusion has thrombosed, and I have a bit of phlebitis. This means there's a little blood clot in the vein they used and the vein is inflamed. It's more painful than my tummy, and it hurts to use the arm. My PS says there's nothing I can do for it, just have to wait. Unfortunately it could take months to fully heal. Yuck! Oh well. I'm lucky to be alive. Can't really complain too much about a crappy vein.
My hair is falling out in clumps. Not unexpected, when I've been through such a huge trauma. But it's depressing. After my VSG my hair took 7 months to stop falling out. I'm mentally preparing myself to dust off my hairpiece that I used after my VSG. Glad I held onto it.
That's kind of where things are at. I'm praying that I've paid my dues and things will be smooth sailing from here on out!

Yes girl - you have paid your dues and enough for the rest of your life!!!!! I'm so glad you are up to posting again. I thought of you every time I went to the bathroom...okay that is just going to sound weird but you know what I mean! LOL
I ended up with a 10 hour surgery and my hair is coming out all over the place. I had forgot about that little nasty side effect. And I have thin fine hair to begin with. At least we have our health! :)

Hi Lizzy,
It was great to get an update from you...you look great!! I think once the bruising is gone..you are going to love your new body!! you have been thru so much and deserve it.
I wanted to recommend using moist warm compresses on that phlebitis..it will help and should be very soothing to you.
Good luck and keep us posted.
hugs,
Patty

Thanks so much for the advice, my PS didn't say anything about that but I googled it and it sounds like a pretty standard treatment so I'll try it and see how it works out. Thanks for the tip!!
