Google ferritin levels.. Your ferritin level is the amount of  a protein that stores iron.  You are lucky with a 51.  Mine is 8.5 and my PCP freaked and said iron supplements 3 times a day.  Oh hell no!  Think of the constipation from 3 x a day iron.

Mine is low like yours and I'm having all kinds of issues. You need to supplement.

Try hemme iron. Proferrin. I buy mine at Costco. I'm working up to 3 a day - taking two now without real poop issues. It is supposed to be most easily absorbed.

At that low, you might also consider iron infusions. I believe "normal" is 10-200 or something like that.

Have you had IV iron?  I just found out my numbers yesterday and while researching treatments I noticed a clinical trial for iron by once a week IV.  Haven't heard back from clinic yet.  My main problem is that I am scheduled for tt and brachioplasty on Jan 6th and I don't want to set that back.  I have , just this past week, noticed unusual fatigue.   I will look into Proferrin.  Hemme iron is the best.  Thanks for the suggestion,  We don't have Costco but someone will carry it here.

I'm doing Iron infusions now...easy, long as you can deal with the IV once a week for 6 weeks or so....I cant take Iron....it just blocks me up...
