Not that anybody has been clamoring for these, but I thought I would post some pics as so many other people have done for the board. I'm not going to try and compete with Zombie's show from a couple months ago as I think I'm outgunned. (No thunder from downunder here) Anyways these are on my profile anyone can look, I included 1 pic before VSG at 540 lbs and 1 after VSG 1 year later at 260 lbs with the rest being 8 weeks post-op. I had a Extended TT, Hernia repair & Gynecomastia. I was 275 going into surgery & had 13 lbs removed. I am 248 lbs today, trying to get to 235 lbs for 305 lb weight loss. I really want the 235 because it would be about 239 on my surgeons scale who did my WLS. And it would be 80% excess body weight lost, which would be excellent for a male that had a VSG done 3 years post-op next March.

I do feel a little lopsided with the incisions being higher on one side, but swelling is going down and I need to give it more time as alot of people talk about having swelling for almost a year. Quality of life is much improved though tying shoes, sleeping, showering, basic functions. I know how much effort I had to put into it everyday and my hat goes off to the ladies on this board as I believe for you it's alot more difficult to deal with all of this extra skin than I ever had to.

I'm hoping to get more surgery in future as I would like to do arms, flanks, and maybe some sort of back excision at some point next year or two but I need to pay some bills first. Total I spent about 8500 bucks for above procedure, insurance only covered hernia but made it cheaper as this was done in hospital. Not counting the wonderful time back in the hospital with blood clots Still waiting to see how much I owe on that week's vacation at the local health spa.

Any comments or ?'s are appreciated good or bad, would like to know what other people think at this point besides my family. If anyone accidently laughs out loud at pic six that's OK it's just real life.

Thanks,
Bubba

Hello Bubba!

Congratulations on your journey!
You really rocked your sleeve!

I had the sleeve done 3 years ago and a LBL 4 weeks ago!

You look fantasti****ep up the great work!
Love the humor about vacation at the health spa. My hubby calls the hospital an expensive hotel!

Now your making me blush, I've always heard there is a skinny person screaming to get out. That got muffled for a long time but I think I am finally starting to hear him. TEE HEE

Hi Bubba....WOW...... YOU LOOK AMAZING CONGRATS ON ALL OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS, AND YOUR SURGERY TO LOOK AND FEEL SO MUCH BETTER...
YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION FOR ME, I AM LOOKING TO HAVE SOME DONE AFTER 127 LB WEIGHT LOSS. IT IS VERY SAD HOW I STILL LOOK AT MY BODY AS BEING SCREWED UP, AND I THOUGHT LOOSING IT WOULD MAKE IT ALL BETTER. IT IS A SHAME THAT INSURANCE COMPANIES MESS WITH WEIGHT LOSS PATIENCE AT ALL. WHO MORE DESERVES TO FINALLY FEEL LIKE THEY WANT TO AFTER LEARNING TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR POSTING..

WOW!!! You look amazing. Thanks so much for sharing.  I start my plastics journey tomorrow with an upper body lift.  I have been appreciating your humor for quite some time now.  You were really rocking those drains.  I have learned so much from your honesty, hope to put much of it in to practice in the next few weeks.  Hope NOT to join your drain club!

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow you'll do Great Kate, (HA that rhymes) sorry best I got right now been a long day. I work nights I'm entitled to say it. Those first few days are rough like my one photo, hadn't even gone back to look at it till I posted it. Wow talk about better days, you could have told me an asteroid was coming to earth I'd of been like whatever.

You take care of yourself let us know how you do,

I understand about the nights. I am an RN and used to work night shift. I NEVER got used to it. I felt like I had jet lag the entire time I was on nights. Thanks for the good wishes.
