Xpost: Plastics update week 6
Well it's been almost six weeks since the first surgery and I finally got my last drain out today. Still have an infection in my left thigh so am on two different antibiotics. The second one is a pain because it can't be taken within 3 hours of any minerals (iron, mulit-vites) or calcium or dairy products, so I've cut back to 1500mg of calcium/day instead of my usual 2000. But for two weeks, it won't hurt me. With the drain out, I'm starting to feel more normal. The infection has hurt and I'm not suppose to be exposed to sunlight for prolong periods, so I haven't gone for any walks in two weeks. But hope to start up again this week. Just plan to cover up really well. And now I can shower daily much easier. So sick of the drains!
Doc says everything else is healing really nicely. I've got a little over two more weeks before I go back to work, still can't lift anything over 5 pounds and still swelling a lot in the legs, especially in the left leg. Other than that, I'm doing great, and still can't get over my flat stomach or how small my torso looks. Eventually I'll take and post pictures.
My body is getting back to normal because TOM finally came back. UGH. Just in time for Halloween. When I have TOM, I can eat unlimited chocolate and not dump, and hubby bought a lot. Leftovers are all leaving the house tomorrow morning so I can get back to normal again.
Thanks for everyone's support through all this.

Sounds like you're doing pretty well, considering all you had done. Rest up and don't do too much too soon!!

Hi Jan,
What a relief to get that last drain out. Some people have them longer than others. I'll be curious to see what happens after my surgery in December.
I can't remember what all you had done.
Good plan for that candy to leave the house! It sounds like you're taking good care of yourself.
