Compression Garment Suggestions?
Alright. I need some suggestions for a "comfortable" compression garment. I purchased one from Spanx and had it on for about 30 minutes when I developed an "attitude"! It is soooo tight and uncomfortable. And yes, I did get the correct size. Please help me with suggestions for a compression garment that I can feel comfortable in while receiving the benefit of compression. I am 5 weeks post-op TT and lipo of outer thigh area.
Thanks so much!

Spanx drove me a bit insane too. There was a thread not too long back about compression garments. I'll try to find it and link you. Some ordered online and I seem to recall something about decent affordable ones at either Target or Walmart. I need to find the thread for myself since I finally got my stupid drain out and can really wear a good garment. I had literally cut the entire crotch out of the spanx I had to accomodate the drains, so I don't want to fool with that thing anymore. I've still been wearing the abdominal binder, but not having the benefit of any compression for my thighs that had lipo. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
Thanks for bringing it up!

I bought a Cammi type with compression support at Target. I believe it was about 16 bucks. I actually bought my first one after my RNY. Then I bought one in a few colors after my TT. My doctor told me last week after 2.5 weeks that I don't need to wear my binder any more. I was shocked. I plan on wearing these Cammi's for a couple of months. If I don't have anything with support, my abdomen starts to feel really weird...
Barb it was very nice talking with you as well. Thanks so much for all the crossings for my good luck.....Im so excited about getting this done. Nice to know you live so close...I live off of marley neck blvd (tanyard springs) My mom in law will be down from PA for a few days to help me. Im also on facebook if you would like to add me.

While we're on compression garments, did any of you buy compression stockings to help with the swelling after a thigh lift? I thought I read someone who wished they had compression stockings to help keep down the swelling in the ankles and feet.
Anyone with an opinion?
For garments, I think Dr. Sauceda will provide me with the binders, then I'll be looking for whatever the rest of you think is best. I have two cammie's from Flexee's (can be purchased cheap at Costco) that give me outrageously great compression but I can't imagine wrestling that thing over my head after arm surgery. Right now I feel like I'm fighting a whale to get it off and on.

if you're having your thighs done Lee, he will give you two compression garments from www.designveronique.com -- you can go and see the ones he will give you. They are very expensive. He will give you the ones with that go to below the knee, open crotch and zips on both sides. He orders them from a woman in MTY. Your face garment will be purchased from the same person and it is also a designveronique brand. They offer excellent compression!
I also wore compression stockings that I bought at Walmart in the pharm section. I can't remember the price, but they were pretty inexpensive. I still wear them during the when I wear my garment to work. I wouldn't suggest the flexee cami's. I wore those before surgery to help hide my saggy tummy. I think you wouldn't be able to get those on with your armlift. Let me know and I will give you the Item # of the garments that Dr S gives you, if you can't find them online.

The full body flexees from the Maidenform website with the bra cut out and the snap crotch is excellent! I have purchased 2 - stage 2 garments from www.marenagroup.com and they are the best! I wear them to work at night and they keep me compressed but not too compressed! Just enough!
